Really? It will be interesting to see which ones you like ... When it comes to 'songs', I'm very gay-pop.

Modern music needs more of male-fronted openly gay-pop though

5. RuPaul – Kitty Girl
Not the best Ru song, but I am alright with the vibe.

8. Lorde – Green Light
It's a shame that this song failed to deliver chart-wise

17. Sia – Ho Ho Ho
Quite high for a strictly seasonal song.

26. Alice Merton – No Roots
It's an interesting song.

29. Sigrid – Strangers
Following the trend is not always a bad idea. Sigrid can serve modern scandi-pop with ease

Good list! Strangers is a tune, good to see Weak and Disconnect too, not seen them on too many lists.. Love So Soft, Anywhere, Green Light all ace. In love with Symphony and really like your number one too.. not as much as you do, but good pick :)

6. Taylor Swift – Look What You Made Me Do
No surprise, i nearly like everything from these.
"Strangers" only got on my playlist lately, so it'll be a hit this year for me. Definitely an artist to look forward to.
"What About Us", "Swish Swish", "Disconnect", "I Got You" (so underrated  ), "Move Your Body", "The Cure", "Herzbeben", "New Rules", "Anywhere" and LWYMMD were big highlight of 2017 for me as well :D

5. RuPaul – Kitty Girl

I think i never heard this in full, but watching RuPaul already made me liking this enough  (funny thing is that i re-watched season 7 last week and am currently re-watching season 8 this week <3)

4. Kesha – Praying

Brilliant comeback

3. Clean Bandit & Zara Larsson – Symphony

Nearly perfection. The video <3

2. Katy Perry – Bon Appétit (feat. Migos)

Should have been a big hit. Actually my favorite single of Katy in 2017.

1. Katy Perry – Chained To The Rhythm (feat. Skip Marley)

Also a great pop song. I think it already didn't age that well, at least i'm not replaying it as often as other stuff from last year. But still a great and deserved #1.

LOVE LOVE LOVE your taste

Your top thirty is full of bops, and until the top five I love almost every single one of them

then you go all wtf with RuPaul and double Katy in the top five - oh dear. :)

I had the feeling that "Green Light" did have a solid chart / streaming performance in contrast to some other female leads in 2017 though :)

I hope Alice Merton can deliver more than this song ...

The YS video ruined it a little for me :(

Hahaha I just STARTED watching season 7 last week! I got into RuPaul this year after a friend convinced me to start watching season 9. After that, I watched seasons 1, 6, 2, 3, 4 and 5. I really hope to finish seasons 7 and 8 soon, because I'm always sooo afraid to be spoilered! Season 9 has been my fave season so far, followed by season 6. However, the person that I can identify the most with is Jinx from season 5 (so far).

Bon Appétit had such a strange development for me ... When it came out, I was like: WTF? What a borefest ... And I hated the single cover and her short hair. I was so frustrated because the looks from the start of the era, CTTR etc. looked FABOLOUS. And I hated BA for not really getting boppy before chorus 3. But then somehow I started bopping to the song and LOVE the whole structure of it, even the Migos rap  And the video is really good, too. Not as amazing as CTTR and I would've changed the final scene a bit (because we had the pole dancing already in Dark Horse), but it's still among her most iconic videos and I'm happy it was a YouTube hit. BA ist probably my most listened-to track of the year and was "#1 in my head" more than any other track - and I'm bopping to it more than to CTTR - but CTTR as a whole, the song, the meaning, the sound, the video - it's just such a unique body of work for me, so in the end snatched the crown from BA :D

Sadly, I don't listen much to Witness ...

Nice to see Katy so high. She's been quite underrated last year. Her music videos are fierce apart from that Swish Swish fiasco.

Helene should have been a bit higher! Nice to see Dua Lipa as well.
Where's Selena Gomez though?

Hello Koko :D

So i read this comment...

KokoCollino wrote:When it comes to 'songs', I'm very gay-pop.
...and though "mmm my favourite"

So many pop bops i've loved throughout 2017 have made the grade here.

29. Sigrid – Strangers

Sigrid got to #2 in my chart with this gem. It really makes me so happy whenever i hear an artist making pure unashamed pop like Strangers. Its such a shame a song like this won't ever become a bonafide chart smash because of Spotify.

26. Alice Merton – No Roots

This was such an amazing discovery. I first discovered Alice Merton when i took part in the FSC and No roots just clicked instantly. Topped my chart for a fortnight so any chart where i see this song, i naturally smile and think "yay".

12. Dua Lipa – New Rules (Initial Talk Remix)

Whilst it was the original version i charted, i love the 80s sound on this remix. I think its massive praise that they released this as a single. I'm sure the producer behind this remix never expected such a massive response on YouTube.

1. Katy Perry – Chained To The Rhythm (feat. Skip Marley)

Excellent #1 of 2017. One of the few songs that just so instantly with me that it rocketed to #1 in my chart after 24 hours. That hamster lyric video won me over pretty much from the first view, and then the official music video took things to a whole new level.

Best of the rest:

30. Rita Ora – Your Song
27. P!nk – What About Us
25. Little Mix – Touch
23. Katy Perry – Swish Swish (feat. Nicki Minaj)
22. Kesha – Learn To Let Go
20. Clean Bandit & Marina and The Diamonds – Disconnect
19. Linkin Park & Kiiara – Heavy
16. Sia – Move Your Body (Single Mix)
14. Lady Gaga – The Cure
11. Starley – Call On Me (Original & Ryan Riback Remix)
10. Zayn & Taylor Swift – I Don't Wanna Live Forever
9. Rita Ora – Anywhere
8. Lorde – Green Light
6. Taylor Swift – Look What You Made Me Do
4. Kesha – Praying
3. Clean Bandit & Zara Larsson – Symphony

Oh really? How is it so far? I really enjoyed season 7. So far, i only know season 7 - 9 though, as these are the only ones available on Netflix. My bf wanted to download the two All Stars seasons but we didn't get around to watch them yet. I hope you will enjoy season 8 as it's really strong IMO (just finished re-watching on the weekend <3).

+1... i didn't like "Bon Appétit" at all at first, however, it grew on me so much and now it's actually my favorite single of "Witness". I also love its video, and, what's probably shocking, i actually never saw the CTTR video in full...
