#32 | AXWELL Λ INGROSSO | MORE THAN YOU KNOW
.
Image
This song is hella generic but a total guilty pleasure. I normally hate breakdowns that use the same melody of the chorus because I find it very lazy but in this song it really works. Such a massive tune! The Chainsmokers who?

#31 | DAYA | NEW
.
Image
Speaking of The Chainsmokers, it's Daya! Clearly influenced by her work with them, this electro-pop song sounds a little vanilla at first and her vocals are a bit screechy but after a few listens it really hits you. The bridge is the best part of the song and one of the best moments of a song from 2017.

Didn't expect "Wolves" to be so 'high', but it's always nice to see Selena having some success!
Love "Symphony" and "Now Or Never", two of my absolute highlights from 2017 8-)

#50 | SELENA GOMEZ + MARSHMELLO | WOLVES

Disagree with Tansike a little bit. Should be higher!

#43 | CARLY RAE JEPSEN | CUT TO THE FEELING

Great to see Carly in the mix as well!

#38 | IMAGINE DRAGONS | BELIEVER
#34 | KATY PERRY | CHAINED TO THE RHYTHM

Two fantastic songs! CTTR is one of Katy's best. Shame it is associated with a not so great Era.

#30 | POST MALONE FEAT. 21 SAVAGE | ROCKSTAR
.
Image
When I first saw this charting in the US I thought I'd hate it just based off judgements alone. However when I actually gave the song a chance I was shocked at how much I liked it. The instrumental is so dark and atmospheric and Post Malone has a really great voice, nothing like the usual mumble rap that plagues the US charts.

#29 | CECE | BROKE AF
.
Image
I wasn't sure about this song at first. I knew I liked it but I wasn't sure if it was enough to warrant multiple listens. Thankfully I gave the song a chance and I quickly became obsessed with it. The vocal effect they put on the 'woahs' in the chorus makes it sound so beautiful and dreamy.

#28 | CAMILA CAMBELLO FEAT. YOUNG THUNG | HAVANA
.
Image
I loved this from Day 1. It was MILES better than OMG, I'm so glad the label so potential in it and pushed it instead of trying both. It has went on to become the massive hit it deserves.

#27 | MARSHMELLO FEAT. KHALID | SILENCE
.
Image
I hadn't heard of either artist before listening to this so before hearing it I was expecting some generic mumble rap song. I was positively surprised to discover that it was a EDM song (and a good one at that!). The breakdown is a little dull but it kind of works and the whole vibe of the song is really chill and quite dark which I love in music.

#26 | GLADES | KEEP IT FROM YOU
.
Image
Yet another alt-pop song sung by a female artist...sorry! The production is to die for and her vocals are stunning! Her voice reminds me of someone but I can't quite put my finger on it.

'Havana' is one of the most memorable songs of 2017, love it!

#25 | RITA ORA | ANYWHERE
.
Image
Probably the best thing Rita has put her name too. The distorted vocals in the chorus are crazy catchy and overall it is just a perfectly made pop song. I'm glad the general public agreed.

#24 | ASHLEY PANTZARE | SPINE
.
Image
At times it almost sounds like she is purposefully trying to sound like Halsey but as a huge Halsey fan, I have no problem with it.

#23 | CLEAN BANDIT FEAT. MARINA | DISCONNECT
.
Image
It comes as no surprise that a Clean Bandit with Marina would become my favourite thing the group has released. Unfortunately it was cruelly treated and swept under the rug soon after release. Clean Bandit probably pretend it doesn't even exist #JusticeForMarina

#22 | ODESZA FEAT. NAOMI WILD | HIGHER GROUND
.
Image
This sounded like something that could have been big in Australia, it kind of has a similar vibe to 'Capsize' which was my favourite single of 2016 but it went completely unnoticed.

#21 | DUA LIPA | NEW RULES
.
Image
In the years to come this will become the perfect example of how a pop song can turn an era around. I'm still amazed at how much this blew up for her but obviously I'm delighted.

#20 | ELOHIM FEAT. WHETHAN | SLEEPY EYES
.
Image
I mean I loved this on first listen but after listening to it loads I was totally in love. Bizarrely the part with the trumpets is the best part even though I hate that instrument. It just works so well against the alt/electro-pop production.

#19 | IMAGINE DRAGONS | WHATEVER IT TAKES
.

This song is classic Imagine Dragons and the explosive chorus is hard to ignore. The louder you play it, the better it sounds.

Not sure why this wasn't a hit because it was in my opinion better than Green Light and much more instant.

Anywhere, Disconnect and New Rules are top notch pop songs

Perfect Places is my fave from Melodrama, but still a little meh compared to the PH stuff
