Oh gosh this album winds so boring
Maybe will click at some point but nothing fresh comes from Shania after this long break... I still love her voice tho

Giving it a listen now on my way to work, what I've heard so far is great - the only slightly dull track has been Soldier.

I'm Alright - those lyrics are deep.

It's very different from her previous work, it's a lot more pop and I'm not sure about Kiss and Make Up it's a bit weird thrown in the middle of the album. I'm sure after a few listens I'll love it all. Poor Me is my favourite, or Roll Me On The River.

This is really nice on the first listen, though it felt a little bit long. "Poor Me" is the obvious highlight for me so far.

To wait 15 years for a new album and to literally like nothing off it. Excuse me while I go cry in a corner. :(

I think Shania will have a tough time here in Germany. Because of some video games (FIFA) and some hardware stuff (two new X-Box or whatever), all the deliveries got messed up and at least in my town where I live, it was not possible to get either the Game of Thrones soundtrack or "Now" by Shania in three different stores (Media Markt, Saturn, Expert). We have a public holiday on Tuesday (3rd October) and all stores are closed anyway and I was told that they will get the album probably on Thursday :D So in the end, it's likely that this album will only have 1 day of physical sales because of Universal messing up.

Don't know about other cities around my country.

More than 2/3 of the album ranges from good to excellent.

It's a strong comeback as far as I'm concerned.

I'm still going to play it a few more times. You can't really get a full judgement on an album on the first day of the release but with Shania I've always had instant favorites and this time around I can barely remember how the song sound. I also played the Deluxe version though which was a bad idea since I hate long albums and I'm sure there is probably some filler opposed to the regular track list.

Have always been a huge shania fan but this album (aside from Poor Me) is deffo not for me, the songs are way apart from my liking and i have no intention to repeat it any further for now but I certainly have a huge respect towards shania both as an artist and as an human.

SHANIA HEADED TO NO #1

Based on very early reads, it looks like Shania Twain's Now (Mercury Nashville) is headed for a #1 debut. This is Twain's first studio album in 15 years.

Shania is expected to score a six-figure debut, which at this point looks sufficient to surpass bows by Safehouse/Island/Hollywood's Demi Lovato and RCA's Miley Cyrus. Check back here tomorrow for updates.

I know me too, I like it more and more with each listen. It's no Come On Over or Up! But it's still a solid record.

Has anyone read the Rolling Stone interview for this? They say Swingin' is tropical pop. It's like they haven't even heard the album.

The Guardian said the same - I was reading these reviews yesterday as I was listening to the album for the first time and none of them really made sense to me.:

On Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed she sings defiantly about how “Fear disappears every time I close my eyes” against a tropical-tinged country beat
