I know this song it quite old, from summer of 2006, but I thought I'd make a new topic for it, since it's currently #1 on the iTunes US hot song!
Thanks to the Grammy hype!

The song will probably re-enter the BB Hot 100 next week, which is awesome IMO 8-)

In other news: HDD has posted an open letter from HITS' editor in chief Lenny Beer, calling on radio programmers to stop boycotting NRTMN:

As this is written, Columbia is reshipping the single to all formats, thus giving radio a timely opportunity to make up for what stands as an embarrassing mistake. Anyone with ears can hear that “Not Ready to Make Nice” is a readymade smash, not only at Country, but also Hot AC, AC and Top 40, and how often do programmers get a gift-wrapped, beautifully set-up song that’s a natural for their formats?
For those who don't understand the situation: a lot of radiostations on several formats boycotted the song, because the song's about the situation the Dixie Chicks got in after they talked about president Bush in public.

Will it be able to re-enter the chart or was it deleted because of the 20 weeks rule???

I´ll be so pleased if this song re-enters straight into the Top 10, and maybe even Top 5, that will be like a punch in the face of some people!

BRILLIANT song. One of my top 10 favorites of last year. Well deserved win for Record Of The Year.

Also a reason why shitty airplay rules should never be allowed on the Hot 100.  :evil

There's not :-? Only a topic for the album and a topic for the latest single "The Long Way Around".

from Hitsdailydouble:

GRAMMY SALES SPIKES: The Grammy Awards, fresh off a ratings triumph, are spiking sales on selected product, highlighted by a massive run on the Dixie Chicks, up a whopping 830%, revitalizing the project. Others feeling the show’s love from retailers around the country include the Chicks' fellow Sony BMG winners John Mayer, Tony Bennett, John Legend, Justin Timberlake and Carrie Underwood, along with UMG's Mary J. Blige and WMG's Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gnarls Barkley and James Blunt, results which will be reflected on next week’s chart. (2/13a)

I believe Columbia is re-promoting this to AC, Hot AC, country, and Pop right now so it can get past Billboard rules that wouldn't allow it to rechart based on iTunes sales, to take advantage of the grammy hype (#1 on itunes). whether or not it will get any airplay I don't know, but it's being sent out again.

I remember there was a song by Anna Nalick who was deleted after 20 weeks, but then it had new life since it was featured in some soundtrack and was enabled to chart again... maybe it´s the same situation here?

However, I´m not sure if the 20 weeks rule apply only to titles between 51-100, or then entire hot 100... Song are only deleted when they leave the Top 50. Being number 1 in itunes this is a dead cert to enter the Top 20 with sales alone and maybe the 20 weeks rule doesn´t affect this region of the chart.

I never really paid any attention to the Dixie Chicks, but I thought I'd give them a shot after seeing them on the Grammy's and I LOVE them! :D 8-) Seriously, I don't know why I've overlooked them for so long, they're really good. Loving 'Not Ready To Make Nice' a lot right now, so hopefully it will benefit from the Grammy boost. :)

Did they really receive death treats on a letter like the lyrics say? Wow, I´m surprised how many idiot people are there in the USA... and people who are boycotting them must be the same reneck white baptists iditos who support Ku Klux Klan.
