We have and no major plot lines are given away. But you know the old internet saying... if it’s released it’s up for discussion.Hugo wrote:CAN'T Y'ALL USE THE SPOILER THINGY FFS??????
Refresh for latest…: Disney/Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi showed its force at the international box office with $230M in its opening this weekend. Combined with domestic, that puts the global launch at $450M. The worldwide figure ranks The Last Jedi as the No. 5 debut ever (No. 3 excluding the China starts of other films — SWTLJ does not go to the Middle Kingdom until January 5). Out of 54 overseas markets, the film written and directed by Rian Johnson, is the best start of 2017 in several majors including the UK which leads with $36.7M.
Episode VIII opened to No. 1 in all but four offshore markets and the $230M start puts Rey, Finn, Poe and the far away galaxy gang in line with pre-opening industry expectations. The consensus among sources is that this very well-reviewed film will benefit from repeat viewings and a slower burn than its predecessor, The Force Awakens.

That doesn’t shock me. I loved it though, but do feel like it lacked storyline. It’s definitely not the movie people - myself included - expected.Hugo wrote:
what the hell?
I genuinely don’t believe that episode 9 will end the story - I believe they will absolutely keep it going by ending IX on a cliff hanger, which is why I think Episode VIII isn’t as comprehensive as I think people thought it would be (myself included).SeeForever wrote:I thought it was great, though it wasn't overly original in places, at times it reminded me of other sci-fi films/shows (though love the shows it reminded me of)
The opening sequence was a big stand out and I enjoyed the Luke/Rey scenes, and of course the tormented Kylo Ren
But killing off Snoke when we knew hardly anything about them was odd and what about the space walk and the reaction of everyone else to it????? (or should I say non-reaction)
I am a big Star Wars fan and find it totally daft people are signing a petition to get the film remade, just because it's not what they expected, and that certain questions weren't answered (there is ep 9 to follow!! They aren't going to reveal everything now are they??)
Where to begin?SummerPeur wrote:I'm still honestly surprised so many people dislike this movie.
Better than all movies?menime123 wrote:Why does everyone seem to dismiss 7? I think it’s the best one out of the lot of them
One of my favourite things about TFA was Finn and Rey's scenes together, in this film they don't meet until right at the end, that was a big disappointment, though I did like Rey's scenes with miserable LukeNothingFails wrote:Where to begin?SummerPeur wrote:I'm still honestly surprised so many people dislike this movie.
Luke being ruined because Rian Johnson is in the "we hate the past" mentality and being written in a way that pissed Mark Hamill off.
Rose being the comic book girl who decided to write herself into fan-fiction
Finn having one moment of actual purpose in this franchise and getting it ruined by Rose
Them basically screwing everything up, they had a year of build-up knowing Carrie Fisher had died and not finding a good way to reshoot/write Leia out while continuing to kill off Luke.
The useless casino planet storyline that is ultimately useless to the entire plot and drags out the screentime
Not only that, but Luke's ending was so anticlimatic that I don't even think Hamill knew it was coming given his reaction after seeing the finished product. Han's death was sad, it was emotional, it added more reason to hate Kylo/Ben. Luke's death was Rian's "we need to get the old characters out of the way to make room for the new characters nobody likes".
