An odd film to remake :-?
Once you have seen the older film you know who's done the deed and why.
Unless you have not seen the old version I can't see the point of seeing this film. If you haven't seen the old film, then it should be quite enjoyable.
Education for anyone aged 12 to 16 has made a mess of the world!

Most films are not copies of what's in a book. The give-away being the tag "based on the book by...".

It's likely that the people watching both films will have never read the book. I certainly haven't. Though I saw the first film again last Saturday on TV, most certainly put on because the new film is out.
