Thor: Ragnarok

I think that this movie needs its very own thread.
So, are there any thoughts about this upcoming movie? Discuss.

I'll definitely watch this but i hope it will be better than i expect, cause the trailer looks awful.

I loved Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings in the first two movies

This might be the first Thor film I actually go to the cinema to see. My only reservation is the seemingly Guardians of the Galaxy tone.. seems a little unusual for the normally straight-laced Thor.

Saw it this past weekend. It was amazing! Absolutely hilarious, the entire theater was laughing the whole time.
I like Marvel movies but I haven't seen all of them, so I wasn't caught up with the story at all (did not see the previous 2 Thor movies) and I still loved it. I'm actually thinking of going again. :D

I’ve seen ever Marvel film so far at least twice and I’d easily put this in the top so far. Cate Blanchett did a great job!

I've never been big on Thor as a franchise, and same with the Hulk... probably my least favourite Avengers.

That said, it's directed by Taika Waititi who I've worked with before and who's work I'm a huge fan of. And it's very much his stamp on the MCU. Not to mention playing 'Spot the Antipodean'...

Really enjoyed it. By far the most enjoyable Thor for me.

I wasn’t amazed by it tbh

I know all these films are fun and jokey, but for me this went a bit too far. Some of it is laugh out loud funny, but some of the jokes are just not good. Even the serious moments of the film lost their impact because a few misplaced jokes

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 for me struck a better balance and the humour seemed more grown up and witty

It was a decent film. Not as good as Civil War.

I enjoyed it a lot but it felt more like a guardians of the galaxy spinoff. It was so humorous it almost felt like a spoof of itself.

I agree. They need to tone down the comedy just a little.

Very good film all the same. Probably the best Thor film.

I'm an ex film school grad. I worked on Taikas first feature Eagle vs Shark and also on Diagnosis Death which he didn't work on but his wife at the time starred in it, along with Bret and Jemaine from Flight of the Conchords.... and those boys worked together a lot.

eyyy someone said it. It was a good FILM but didn't feel like Thor and some plotholes bothered me like why was hela so powerful but not able to locate the sword easily? . an RT of upper 90's aint doing it for me . IMO its at best an 85-88% film.

Hela is so powerful because she's the goddess of death to begin with. Also, because she's the first born child of the family; probably in norse mythology a first born is believed to be almighty (i have seen this in the past on a tv series called "The Originals", aunt Dahlia and Freya, were both first born children and omnipotent too)... She couldn't locate the sword easily because she simply didn't know where it was. She was only aware of its original location.

I hope i helped you somehow. :)
