My father made me watch World of Warcraft and I was shocked how utterly uneventful, inspired and bad it was. I can't understand all the good reviews Oo

The Conjuring 2 (2016)

I thought the first Conjuring film was decent enough but way overrated, I enjoyed this sequel a bit more. I really liked the main cast and I've always had a big interest in everything to do with the Enfield haunting. It included a lot of little details from the real life case which was nice to see...I also thought they might just dismiss Maurice Grosse but actually they showed him respect. The film has some good music choices from the 60's and 70's from the likes of The Clash, The Hollies and The Bee Gees. Of course towards the end the movie becomes OTT but to be fair that was the most entertaining part. What I didn't like though(spoiler)was when Ed Warren said they didn't have any great proof, just a video of Janet faking stuff, he said this just after seeing a door slam in his face on it's own... 7/10

Poltergeist (2015)

Not a patch on the original but at the same time it's not as awful as many people make out. If you like haunted house films then this will pass the time, it adds nothing new but it's not boring. One of the things that made the original Poltergeist special was the oscar nominated score from Jerry Goldsmith, it really added to the atmosphere. This remake fails on that count because I can't remember any notable music. The part where the girl is kidnapped though is done better here. 6/10

War of the Worlds (2005)

The beginning is the best part, in regards to dialogue and suspense. The rest of the movie is still decent enough until the end which is terrible and corny. Good performances from Tom Cruise and Fanning(at the start). The John Williams score is very disappointing though. 7/10

Great movie that makes you think about extraterrestrial life and whether it's a good idea to encounter them.

La La Land (2016)

Really great performances from Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, I found the start boring but once these two meet up things improve. I wish they had more dialogue scenes because for me there isn't enough. The ending is really good and it leaves you with a much better lasting impression of the film. 6.5/10

Magic (1978)

Very predictable and boring. Jerry Goldsmith was one of the great composers but I didn't like his music for this, every time they showed the dummy you would hear the same sound, it became so repetitive and irritating. 2/10

Terrific film, Bette was so good and Marilyn already showing so much star quality, she looked regal and made it impossible to look away. And what a bitch Eve is, god knows I found snake's muse, Baxter did an amazing job with that character.

Very affecting movie. Hoffman is incredible and the climax in particular was extremely emotional. One of the most poignant, moving movies I've seen. It wasn't without its flaws: in the final half I think it becomes too complex and ambitious when it doesn't necessarily need to be because the emotional in it prevails. It's another film that I think requires more than one viewing to appreciate fully.

Night on the Galactic Railroad (1985)
Image

This was magic and really sad, the animation didn't grab me at first but I soon warmed to it plus it did get a lot better once the train arrived it is also pretty trippy; religious tones (don't be put off though), fans of Ghibli may enjoy this. 8/10

Stormy Night (2005)
Image

omg this was so adorable, the animation is lovely to look at and the story is simple yet really effective; a wolf and goat become friends. 8/10

Ghibli fans may appreciate both of these gems.

This was better than I expected it would be. Funny, but with a meaningful message.

A well-intentioned movie, but it ended up all over the place.
