I am not trying to seduce you... Would you like me to seduce you? Is that what you're trying to tell me?

If you wanna watch a detective movie, watch Orient Express instead. Haven't seen it yet but looks much better than Crooked. :D

Just watched it tonight.

One of the worst murder solving movies ever.

Spoiler:
In the book it takes him TILL THE END to work out they all new him, not have him work out the note right at the bloody start and simply fill in the missing gaps. Like come on, if you hadn't read the book, you knew instantly who had done it.

Watching this tonight. I wanted to catch it at the cinema when it was released earlier this year but never got the chance. I've heard a lot of great things about it and have been anticipating seeing it for a while now. :D

My fav movie of the year

Image
Terribly underrated by the gp and the critics because of a 1st degree interpretation without seeing the metaphors with the biblical references IMO

Paprika : Amazing, the original inception

I enjoyed this on the whole in all its ridiculousness and absurdity.  Some of the special effects and visuals are so tacky and cheap, though... a byproduct of the 1980s pre-technological era.

I just watched Justice League tonight. I really enjoyed it. The flash and wonder woman are the clear standouts.

Loved it as much as the first, if not more. Intriguing, intelligent and not at all clichéd.

I need to check out the ever controversial cult classic Cannibal Holocaust that this film takes its inspiration from. I'm not the biggest fan of Eli Roth as a director. This film was expectedly heavy on the gore front, which is where the film delivered; but the narrative was messy and confusing, and the social subject matters were not covered in enough depth. I'm not surprised this was critically panned.

Yoshie I have seen "Green Inferno" and although it was OK, I can't say I didn't feel that it was a very uninspired copy-paste job. I don't know if you will like "Cannibal Holocaust" or not (it's a movie of its time) but to me it's a great great classic and I always enjoy it whereas the Tim Roth remake was just forgettable. Talking about movies with identical plot, several came out after "Cannibal Holocaust" and although most of them were totally forgettable, "Cannibal Ferox" did stand out as another classic, despite being more or less identical to "Holocaust". So check that out too.
