Unless you've been living under a rock for the last few months, you'll be aware that the UK has just triggered "Article 50" - declaring our intention to leave the EU. Given this website is UKMIX, we have decided to celebrate all that is good about all the constituent parts of the UK - starting off with our many different British languages.
In the coming weeks and months, we'll be setting to work in translating the reviews into Scots Gaelic - in honour of our Scottish members, and the small archive of features will be translated into Kernewek (Cornish). The finishing touch will be translating the front page into Irish Gaelic to recognise the Northern Irish folk. However, it was felt the best place to start was on the forums, as that is the most used part of the site.
It's going to take some time to get the full details of all the forums translated into Welsh, but we're starting with the forum titles. After all, it's going to be a lengthy process triggering Brexit, and it's only inevitable it will take a fair while similarly to get the site fully adjusted to be a fully truly UK site, rather than just one that features the language of one of our constituent nations.
Don't worry, we're not expecting you all to post in Welsh - at least for the first year, we're happy to keep the forum posts themselves in English - because we do recognise that England is part of the UK. If Scotland chooses to seek independence, we'll be reverting the reviews section into English, but given Wales is highly unlikely to get independence any time soon, the forums section will remain in Welsh.
