Last week's # 1 Brand New seems to be nowhere inside the SPS top 50. Will be a new record for the drop from the top.

NEW RELEASES, BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE AMERICAN DREAM

LCD Soundsystem's highly anticipated fourth studio album—also their first via Columbia and first in seven years—looks like it could do 75k in its first week. That said, american dream has a shot at #1, but we'll be monitoring Lil Uzi Vert's second-week numbers closely.

More specifically, LCD forecasts suggest 70-75k in album sales and 75-80k in SPS.

And remember: Vert debuted at #1 on this most recent chart with around 126k.

Because they're one of the best bands in the world and no one was expecting a new album from them ever again.

But all their previous albums didn't smash, to say the least. Plus, they haven't got any hits.

ONE DREAMY CHART STORY

LCD Soundsystem’s american dream—the band’s fourth studio album, first in seven years and first to be released via Columbia—has bowed at #1 on this week’s Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart with 84k. It’s also the only debut to make this Top 50.

In their second weeks out, Lil Uzi Vert’s Luv Is Rage 2 (Generation Now/Atlantic) and XXXTENTACION’s 17 (Bad Vibes Forever/Empire) slide gracefully to #2 and #3 with 64k and 51k, respectively.

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar’s widely acclaimed DAMN. (TDE/Interscope) remains on fire, as it continues to hold down the #4 spot with nearly 41k in its 21st week out.

Then there are the noteworthy beneficiaries of a $6.99 Labor Day sale at iTunes: Imagine Dragons’ Evolve (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope) leaps #10-5, SZA’s CTRL (TDE/RCA) sprints #17-9, Kesha’s Rainbow (Kemosabe/RCA) holds at #14 and Luke Combs’ This One’s For You (River House/Columbia Nashville) goes #34-20.

When it comes to SPS marketshare, SME leads with 37%, UMG is #2 with 34% and WMG rounds out the Top 3 with 23%, while the indies follow with 6%.

Streeting this week are albums from Valory/BMLG’s Thomas Rhett, 4AD’s The National, Republic’s Jack Johnson, MCA Nashville’s Kip Moore and Broken Bow’s Dustin Lynch.

Barring a big surprise release, Valory/BMLG’s Thomas Rhett will score his first #1 on next Friday’s chart with new set Life Changes. Rhett previously peaked at #6 when Tangled Up debuted in October 2015 with 76k.

Changes is currently #1 on the iTunes album chart. Here's how things look for the top two debuts, based on very early reads.

NEW RELEASES: WONDERFUL NEWS

Barring a big surprise drop, Island's The Killers look set to debut at #1 on our next SPS chart with Wonderful Wonderful. Here's how things look for the week's key debuts, according to early reads:

The Killers (Island) 113-118k SPS, 105-110k album
Lecrae (Reach) 28-32k, 20-23k
Jhené Aiko (Def Jam) 28-32k, 8-10k
Midland (Big Machine/BMLG) 17-19k, 15-17k

Def Jam's Aiko, it should be pointed out, is supplementing her highly personal new release with a film and a book of poetry, about which we'll have more very soon.

We now return you to your Saturday wake-and-bake scenario.
