Is that not partially driven by downloads of the lead single though? What if people choose not to "complete" their order.

Ultimately, I do not believe she'll sell remotely close to 400k - but included it as the starting point as it's the only indication of data we have so far.

Apparently, Reputation won't be available on streaming services immediately. Curious about how that will effect the sales?

I think its more likely to be an Apple Music exclusive than not on any streaming services at all

Somewhere in the 1m-1.25m mark and the second week drop will be absolutely brutal.

Voted for 1,250,000-1,500,000.

She has a huge radio deal rolled up in the US as the biggest radio stations will play a song from the album on top of every hour.

This is a BEAST. Hold your wigs!

Lol it's ironic how everyone doubted 1989 could sell 1m first week (even industry predictors) when SIO was a massive hit, and LWYMMD has fared relatively quickly and the certainty is high she will do 1m.

But also interesting to note she's coming off a much bigger era (1989) than during 2014 (Red).

It's really a tossup. I'll say 1.25m.

However if she does 750k-1m that's still very impressive despite higher expectations.

this, basically

Judging from the missing hype at the moment i wouldn't say she reaches a million, but it's Taylor and her team so she definitely should reach it, no matter how.

I think "the missing hype" is possibly a figment of our imaginations on these boards, personally. There's an entire world full of many people out there who love Taylor, or like her enough to buy her album - regardless of how her singles perform on the charts or the perceived hype level. There's also a world full of far fewer people who drag her for filth every chance they get, trying to make it seem like she's the worst and will fail.

I think a million in the US is a minimum. I say this based on pre-order data and her track record. How much higher she may go, I have no idea. There's a very big machine working overtime. Pun intended.

If I'm wrong, I'm not going to be making excuses for it, either. What will be, will be.

You don't think it's even possible for her to sell 1.45 in pure sales? Why not? I mean, almost anything is possible, right? Some may even say it's likely.

The label sounds very confident about this possibly doing 2m - not clear if that’s US only or worldwide. Either way, it would be an odd move to talk it up this way and have it disappoint. I’m not betting against the house here. I think their confidence is likely based on some knowledge.

Anyway they report "analysts are predicting Taylor Swift’s reputation (Big Machine/BMLG), while bowing well ahead of prior smash set, 1989, will probably do a very strong 1.5m first week."
