We are now up to date.

This week, Chris Stapleton edges out Logic with top selling album, but comes up short in the overall race (generating 15,000 units in track downloads + song streams from his latest album).

Shakira lands another top 10 seller this week; 2017 post updated on prior page.

The Beatles have the No. 1-selling album, but that title already had hit the top spot.

Of note: last week, a Soundgarden album and a Chris Cornell title reached new sales peaks (top 40).

We are now updated through the June 17, 2017 issue.

Sgt. Pepper was the top seller. The album logs in its 16th week as the #1 seller in the States, but falls a smidge short on the Billboard 200. If you view Top Album Sales as a continuation of the old Billboard 200, then hypothetically, the album sets a record for the longest gap between two chart topping weeks. That mark stands at roughly 49 years and 9 months.

Truth be told, no other album has taken longer than 8 months to complete a round trip back to #1 (in sales).

^It's the Beatles., so no surprise there. :) Thanks for pointing out that stat.

This week, Roger Waters scores his first top 10-selling solo album, while Alt J scores his second; 2017 post updated on prior page (I will update the positions once the official rankings are available).

A couple of Hall of Fame inductees each score their first top 10-selling album this week with their collaborative release. One of four top 10 titles this week that do not rank in the top 10 of the multi-metric chart; 2017 post updated on prior page.

After a week with no Album Sales/multi-metric discrepancies in terms of feats, we're back in business this week, with Imagine Dragons scoring another No. 1 seller and two other acts scoring their first top 10s; 2017 post updated on the prior page.

This week, Stone Sour scores their first top seller.

Also, a new low for the top seller on the Billboard 200 (#8).

^But, more notably, not a low for the No. 1-selling album. That's bound to eventually come, but the more delayed the better. :)

Here's a question- Billboard lists the OK Computer reissue as a separate release from the original, but also lists it on Catalog Albums. it'
s top 10 in sales this week- would that then count as a new top 10 seller for Radiohead? Things that make you go hmmmm...

Personally, I would count it as a continuation as long as the original album is presented in whole.

^Probably a good philosophy, even if Billboards' treatment for such releases is questionable at times. The original release didn't peak in the top 10, so I will add it to the 2017 list.

This week, we have Coldplay's EP and Kidz Bop 35 as top 10 exclusives for Album Sales; 2017 post updated on prior page.

An addition to the Aug. 19 info: Manchester Orchestra scored its first top 10 set. The initial sales report had it at No. 11.

Also- for Aug. 26, Brett Eldredge scores his first No. 1-selling album. Will update 2017 post when all info is available.

Congrats to Brett.

Quite a rare southern soul country singer. I see him sticking around for a good while. I plan to update the front page a little later in the evening/early morning.

If it's a top 10 seller, then it's a top 10- and will be added to my running list later on. :)
