Updated the 2017 list on page 4.

The Oct. 14 chart is particularly active and noteworthy, with six top 10 albums exclusive to the Album Sales chart. Three acts score their first top 10 seller (three did the prior week).

Great, thanks HolidayGuy.

There is quite a contrast between both Top Album Sales and the Billboard 200 this week. #9 for Fergie isn't horrible, but #19 on the big chart makes this album look like a flop. Actually, #19 isn't a bad number but no chance we'll see movement.

You're welcome, Wolf. In the case of Fergie, the sales ranking isn't bad, but this week, it drops to the 50s, so not good on that front.

Another active week for the top 10 on Top Album Sales, with five titles exclusive to that chart's top 10; 2017 post updated on page 4.

The Dirty Heads' new top 10 led me to find that a handful or so of titles in summer 2016 were missing from the list. So, that one's updated, as is 2017 with this week's info. One of these days I'll probably go back to verify all the info to make sure nothing else is missing.

Added info for the Nov. 25 chart to the 2017 post on page 4; also, I realized Grace VanderWaal's EP was missing from the 2016 info, so I added that to the 2016 post.

Gwen Stefani scores a fourth solo top 10 seller this week.

Also- if my counts are correct, it looks like there have been 93 albums that hit the sales top 10 this year, that didn't hit the multi-metric top 10 (there were 74 in 2016, and 51 in 2015). The total of No. 1s on Album Sales, that didn't hit No. 1 on the multi-metric chart, though, stands at 11, down slightly from 13 in 2016 (in 2015, there were six).

Thanks for the update, HolidayGuy!

It's been a good while since the #1's have been different, but we haven't had a blockbuster SPS piece. Maybe Post Malone can challenge things... who knows?

After a quiet few weeks, we have a handful of albums charting in the top 10 of Album Sales that do not rank in/have not hit the multi-metric top 10

Wolf- The Greatest Showman at least hit No. 1 on both the sales and multi-metric charts. :) If it weren't for that album, the top-selling album would have had less than 20,000, which likely will happen in the future, but good that it hasn't happened yet (~30,000 remains the low mark).

For the first time since the Aug. 26 chart (Brett Eldredge's self-titled set), there is a No. 1-selling album that has not (and likely will not) hit No. 1 on the multi-metric chart. Congrats to Brandi Carlile; 2018 post updated.

Honestly, had no idea that Brandi Carlile was going to barely pass Black Panther.

We have an album that's No. 2 on Album Sales this week, that ranks outside the multi-metric top 10- first instance?

In any event, it's Tech N9ne's sixth top 10 seller.
