I have already done the Monkees,shane2167 wrote:Hi topicel,
Thankyou for all the information regarding the three major music charts, as I have been doing some research myself.
I was wondering if it was not too much trouble if you could give me a sales estimate on the chart runs regarding the group The Monkees and their singles as you have done with the Jackson 5 ?
Any help would be much appreciated as I have no sales figures to work from.
Thankyou, Shane.
Thank you for you, bringing attention to this. I made mistakes but now, Cliff Richard and the Beatles are where they should be.Topicel wrote:Hi Grendizer - a really interesting set of lists from the early sixties in Japan of what Western Music was favoured in Tokyo.
I see that Cliff Richard made a breakthrough in 1963 - no doubt thanks to his move into glossy movie musicals - and that was also the final ingredient to make him Billboard's number one international act globally too I'm sure despite hardly having a look in Stateside.
One question about the last chart, you have Presley's 'Devil In Disguise' in No. 2 & No. 8 place - which is it please and what should be in the place of it where it isn't?! I assume it didn't bounce back up to No. 2 really...?
Oh, and April 1963 has an Elvis entry in Japanese script - what is that please too?
Thanks again.

Yes, it would make a great input on the topic.CatoFur wrote:Thanks for these. I have a handful of earlier Music Life charts from 1959, and I think I have a complete set from 1965 through to July 1966. These were posted on a Google chat room / forum about twenty years ago by someone called Toru Kanno. I can share these here, if you like.
