Imagine Dragons & Khalid 'Thunder' Onto Charts With New Studio Medley
https://www.billboard.com/articles/colu ... oke-charts
1/4/2018 by Kevin Rutherford

The studio version of "Thunder/Young Dumb & Broke" bows on multiple lists, including No. 4 on Hot Rock Songs.
After Imagine Dragons and Khalid performed a medley of their respective hits "Thunder" and "Young Dumb & Broke" at the 2017 American Music Awards on Nov. 19, the studio version -- released Dec. 19 -- debuts at No. 4 on Billboard's Hot Rock Songs chart (dated Jan. 6).

The track bows with 46,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen Music, good for a No. 2 start on Rock Digital Song Sales, along with 2 million U.S. streams (in the week ending Dec. 28).

The medley's release also spurs a 124 percent surge to 75,000 sold for the original "Thunder," its second-best weekly sum, as it crowns Rock Digital Song Sales for a 15th week.

With the original "Thunder" at No. 1, the new medley at No. 2 and prior hit "Believer" at No. 3, Imagine Dragons are the first group to control the top three spots in a week on Rock Digital Song Sales (which began in 2010). The only other act to do so was Prince, who monopolized the top four on the chart dated May 7, 2016, following his passing that April 21.

The new medley additionally represents Imagine Dragons' highest debut on Hot Rock Songs, topping the No. 5 launches of "I Bet My Life" (Nov. 15, 2014) and "Sucker for Pain," the band's Suicide Squad collab with Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa, along with featured acts X Ambassadors, Logic and Ty Dolla $ign (July 26, 2016).

On the Billboard Hot 100, "Thunder/"Young Dumb & Broke" bows at No. 69, giving Imagine Dragons three songs on the ranking, below "Thunder" (No. 5, after rising to No. 4) and "Believer" (No. 25; it also peaked at No. 4).

Khalid, meanwhile, charts four songs on the Hot 100, led by his original "Young Dumb & Broke," up to a new No. 18 peak (from No. 33), as it surges 39-7 on Digital Song Sales (47,000, up 263 percent); all but two titles on the 50-position Digital Song Sales chart gain heavily, reflecting robust holiday consumer activity in the Dec. 22-28 tracking period.

Khalid also ranks on the Hot 100 with Logic's "1-800-273-8255" (as a featured vocalist, with Alessia Cara) at No. 34 and with Marshmello's "Silence," on which he's also featured, at No. 44.

Zach Williams' 'Choir' Ties Record Atop Christian Airplay Chart
https://www.billboard.com/articles/colu ... one-record
1/4/2018 by Jim Asker

Williams' second leader reigns for a 19th week, matching the mark among solo males.
Zach Williams' "Old Church Choir" ties the mark for the most weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Christian Airplay chart for a song by a solo artist, as it rebounds 6-1 (on the list dated Jan. 6) for its 19th week atop the tally.

The track, which Williams co-wrote, soars by 184 percent to 8.3 million audience impressions in the tracking week ending Dec. 31, according to Nielsen Music (as Christian radio stations reverted from holiday-heavy playlists back to regular programming after Christmas).

"Choir" matches the 19-week reign of Brandon Heath's "Give Me Your Eyes" in 2008 and 2009 for the record among soloists. Overall, only MercyMe's "Word of God Speak" has led longer: 23 weeks beginning in August 2003. (Casting Crowns' "East to West" also ruled the chart for 19 weeks, in 2007 and 2008.)

"I honestly can't believe it," Williams told Billboard upon hearing of the feat. "I am so grateful for the opportunity that God has given me, and truly I am humbled by the response that 'Old Church Choir' has received."

Matt Maher also benefits from the format's return to non-seasonal songs, as "Your Love Defends Me" re-enters Christian Airplay at No. 9 (4.7 million, up 393 percent), surpassing its prior No. 12 high to become his eighth top 10. He first reached the region nearly 10 years ago, with the No. 4-peaking "Your Grace Is Enough."

Hot 100 Chart Moves: Camila Cabello, Beyonce, Halsey & Dua Lipa Lead Women's Resurgence at Pop Radio
https://www.billboard.com/articles/colu ... hart-moves
1/4/2018 by Gary Trust

Dua Lipa's "New Rules," up 13-12 on the Hot 100, helps women boast their best showing in the Pop Songs chart's upper reaches since 2014.
As previously reported, Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé's "Perfect" tops the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated Jan. 6) for a fourth week.

Plus, Cardi B becomes just the third act – and the first rapper – to place their first entries in the Hot 100's top 10 simultaneously, joining only The Beatles and Ashanti in achieving the feat. The Bronx MC earns the honor as G-Eazy's "No Limit," featuring A$AP Rocky and Cardi B, lifts from No. 5 to a No. 4 high; Migos, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B's No. 6-peaking "MotorSport" holds at No. 7; and Cardi B's former three-week No. 1 debut smash "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)" returns to the top 10, rising 12-10.

Meanwhile, Takeoff becomes the third and final member of Migos to score a solo entry on the Hot 100, debuting at No. 65 as featured on Huncho Jack's "Eye 2 Eye."

Who else makes notable Hot 100 chart moves this week?

"New Rules," Dua Lipa
The song continues its Hot 100 climb, lifting 13-12 for a new peak in its 22nd week on the list. It keeps at its No. 9 high on the Radio Songs chart, up 3 percent to 71 million all-genre audience impressions in the week ending Dec. 28, according to Nielsen Music.

On the Pop Songs airplay chart (which measures plays on 161 mainstream top 40 radio stations), "New Rules" rises 6-4, marking Dua Lipa's first top five hit on the tally. It also contributes to women in lead roles ranking in each of the chart's top four spots:

1, "Havana," Camila Cabello feat. Young Thug
2, "Perfect," Ed Sheeran duet with Beyoncé
3, "Bad at Love," Halsey
4, "New Rules," Dua Lipa

The last time, until this week, that women with lead billings had placed in each of the four top positions on Pop Songs? More than three years ago, on the chart dated Nov. 15, 2014:

1, "Habits (Stay High)," Tove Lo
2, "Bang Bang," Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj
3, "Shake It Off," Taylor Swift
4, "Black Widow," Iggy Azalea feat. Rita Ora

That week, not only did seven women place in the top four, Meghan Trainor helped make the entire top five a clean sweep for females, as "All About That Bass" ranked at No. 5.

Meanwhile, "Havana" leads Pop Songs for a sixth week, marking the longest reign for a women with lead credit since Zedd and Alessia Cara's "Stay" spent six weeks at No. 1 beginning last June. No song by a lead female has logged a longer command since Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble.": seven weeks, beginning in February 2013.

In a sign of potential further momentum, Halsey boasts this week's greatest gainer in weekly plays on Pop Songs, as her G-Eazy collab "Him & I" lifts 19-18 (while ranking at No. 24 on the Hot 100). Cabello's "Havana" follow-up, "Never Be the Same," makes the third-greatest gain, as it rises 33-32 on Pop Songs.

"All I Want for Christmas Is You," Mariah Carey
After spending its first two weeks ever in the Hot 100's top 10, at No. 9, Carey's 1994 classic drops to No. 13. It and other Christmas songs (at Nos. 36, 38, 42 and 46) are almost certainly in their last weeks on the Hot 100 for this holiday season, as the current chart's streaming and sales tracking week ended Dec. 28 and the airplay tracking week wrapped Dec. 31.

Despite the streaming tracking period ending after Christmas Day, Carey's hit holds at No. 8 on Streaming Songs with a 9 percent gain to 28.9 million U.S. streams, its highest-ever weekly total.

"Shape of You," Ed Sheeran
As "Perfect" continues atop the Hot 100, Sheeran's former 12-week No. 1 "Shape of You" rebounds 24-19 with the chart's top gain in airplay (50 million in all-format audience, up 44 percent). Boosting the latter song: adult-formatted stations returning to regular programming following Christmas-focused playlists during the holidays.

Lil Xan Hits Top Five on Emerging Artists Chart
https://www.billboard.com/articles/colu ... e-betrayed
1/4/2018 by Xander Zellner

Plus, LANCO returns to No. 1 and Zacari hits the top 10 for the first time.
Lil Xan leaps from No. 10 to No. 5 for a new peak on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart (dated Jan. 6).

The move is powered by the 21-year-old rapper's debut single "Betrayed," which enters the Rap Digital Song Sales chart at No. 25, up 278 percent to 11,000 downloads sold, while boasting 8.7 million U.S. streams (in the week ending Dec. 28), according to Nielsen Music.

The Emerging Artists chart uses the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50. However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard's "Hot" song genre charts and/or consumption-based "Top" album genre rankings.

The official video for "Betrayed," which Lil Xan released in August, has drawn 82 million global views on YouTube to date.

"Betrayed" concurrently ranks at No. 75 on the Hot 100 (after reaching No. 67) and No. 32 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (after hitting No. 28).

LANCO returns to No. 1 on the Emerging Artists chart for a fifth total week after four contestants from The Voice pushed the country group to No. 5 last week. LANCO leads as its former Hot Country Songs No. 1 "Greatest Love Story" gains 78 percent to 22,000 downloads sold, while tallying 4.9 million U.S. streams and 31 million radio audience impressions.

Rounding out the Artist 100's top five, Russell Dickerson jumps 6-2 (a new peak), MAX rises 8-3 (also a new high) and Walker Hayes hikes 7-4.

Among other Artist 100 moves, Zacari climbs 14-6, reaching the top 10 for the first time on the strength of his feature on Kendrick Lamar's "Love." Following the Dec. 21 arrival of its official video, the single vaults 22-11 on the Hot 100, rising 53 percent to 19.2 million U.S. streams, marking the chart's greatest streaming gain. It also soars by 183 percent to 32,000 sold and 1 percent to 62 million airplay audience impressions.

Meanwhile, controversial YouTube star Logan Paul re-enters Emerging Artists at a new peak of No. 14, driven entirely by gains in digital song sales, led by "Santa Diss Track" (9,000 sold, up 191 percent). On Dec. 31, Paul sparked controversy when he posted a video of himself in Japan's Aokigahara forest to his YouTube channel, showing the body of a person who had committed suicide. He deleted the clip on Jan. 1 and issued an apology, but has said he's taking a break from vlogs for "time to reflect."

Huncho Jack Debuts on Artist 100, Ed Sheeran Returns to No. 1
https://www.billboard.com/articles/colu ... jack-album
1/4/2018 by Xander Zellner

Huncho Jack, the new hip-hop duo of Travis Scott and Quavo, earns the highest debut of the week on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated Jan. 6), opening at No. 11.

The Artist 100, which launched in July 2014, measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

Huncho Jack's Artist 100 debut is powered by its new album Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho, which arrives at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 90,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music.

The set, which launches at No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums, helps Scott and Quavo add to their already impressive chart repertoire. Scott has earned two top five solo albums on the Billboard 200 (one of which, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, hit No. 1 in 2016), while Quavo, as a member of trio Migos, reached the summit via the group's Culture in February 2017. Quavo hasn't yet released (or announced plans for) a solo album.

As solo acts, Travis Scott reached No. 5 on the Artist 100 in September 2016 and Quavo peaked at No. 47 August 2017. (Migos led the list concurrent with Culture crowning the Billboard 200.)

Ed Sheeran is once again the top musical act in the U.S., leading the Artist 100 for a seventh total week (2-1), as his single "Perfect," with Beyoncé, tallies its fourth week atop the Billboard Hot 100. The track gains by 8 percent to 164,000 downloads sold, earning a fifth week at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart, and pushes by 4 percent to 130 million in radio audience. The song also sports 37.7 million U.S. streams.

Sheeran ties Bruno Mars for the sixth-most weeks spent at No. 1 on the Artist 100. Taylor Swift holds the record with 36 weeks, followed by Drake (25), The Weeknd (14), Justin Bieber (11) and Adele (10).

Rounding out the chart's top five, Swift rises 3-2, Imagine Dragons jump 7-3, Post Malone holds at No. 4 and Eminem drops to No. 5 following his first week at No. 1.

Billboard 200 News - Chart First for Gene Autry!

Image

Gene Autry's Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer And Other Christmas Classics, a 2003 release, debuts on the Billboard 200 at #157 and becomes the late Mr. Autry's first entry on the Billboard popular albums chart (1945-present). Autry (1907-1998) was primarily a western ('cowboy') movie star, but also was a country singer on Columbia Records who recorded the original versions of "Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)" in 1948 and "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer" in 1949. These songs, especially the latter one, are heard on US radio to this day at the holidays. The charting album naturally includes these songs and, although it includes more material than Autry's 1957 Christmas album, drops all the hymn-book Christmas songs (O Little Town Of Bethlehem, Silent Night, etc.) in favor of more Santa-themed songs.

Autry would be 110 years old if he were living today. I believe that an artist charting for the first time on the Billboard 200 that long after their birth is a record, although I am sure someone will point out if anyone has ever bested that mark.

Here are the dates of birth (and current ages if they were living) of several artists who have appeared on the Billboard 200 or Catalog charts with albums this Christmas season:

Comparatively speaking, Bobby Helms (1933-1997), Elvis Presley (1935-1977), Brenda Lee (b. 1944) and Jose Feliciano (b. 1945) are just youngsters. Lee was just 13 years old when "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree", which has propelled two different albums onto the Billboard 200 this season, was recorded.

Kendrick Lamar's 'Love.' Lifts to No. 1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart
https://www.billboard.com/articles/colu ... play-chart
1/4/2018 by Trevor Anderson

The song is his first No. 1 on the chart as a lead artist.

Kendrick Lamar claims his first No. 1 as a lead artist on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart (dated Jan. 6), as "Love.," featuring Zacari, zips 2-1. The rapper previously reigned in a featured role on A$AP Rocky’s "F**kin Problems" in 2013.

"Love." tops the list with 31 million in format airplay audience (up 1 percent) in the week ending Dec. 31, according to Nielsen Music.

The collaboration also secures Lamar’s first leader on the list from his album DAMN., after "Humble." and the Rihanna-assisted "Loyalty." each halted at the runner-up spot. Another tune from DAMN., "DNA.," peaked at No. 28.

The coronation of "Love." on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay follows the Dec. 21 arrival of the song's official video, which sparked its 22-11 vault on the latest Billboard Hot 100, driven by the track's 53 percent surge to 19.2 million U.S. streams in the tracking week.

Meanwhile, a new No. 1 hit is just the beginning of what looks to be a busy stretch for Lamar. The rapper will become the first artist to perform during halftime at the College Football Playoff national championship game on Jan. 8 and is nominated for seven prizes at the 60th annual Grammy Awards on Jan. 28, including album of the year for 2016’s DAMN. and record of the year for "Humble."

Plus, Disney has confirmed that Lamar will write, produce and curate the soundtrack for the upcoming Marvel film Black Panther, due in theaters Feb. 18. The set’s first offering, a Lamar collaboration with SZA titled "All My Stars," was released Jan. 4.

The rapper matches the top 10 sums of E-40 and Tech N9ne, dating to the list’s inception on June 26, 2004.

Gucci Mane’s run began with his 2005 debut studio album, Trap House. The LP, which generated the breakout single "Icy," peaked at No. 10 that year. The Atlanta native continued his success in the ensuing years by placing eight top 10s by the decade’s end, culminating in his first No. 1, The State vs. Radric Davis, which reigned in the final week of 2009.

Beyond State, Gucci Mane has ruled Top Rap Albums on two other occasions: Everybody Looking commanded for one week in August 2016, while Mr. Davis topped the survey for a single frame in November.

Huncho Jack Debuts at No. 1 on R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap Albums Charts
https://www.billboard.com/articles/colu ... bums-chart
1/4/2018 by Trevor Anderson

Huncho Jack, a.k.a. the duo of Travis Scott and Quavo, debuts at No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums charts (dated Jan. 6) with Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho.

The set starts with 90,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Dec. 28, according to Nielsen Music.

As previously reported, the LP launches at No. 3 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

As the new tandem's album arrives, seven of the set’s cuts debut on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart:

No. 27, "Eye 2 Eye," featuring Takeoff
No. 29, "Modern Slavery"
No. 31, "Black & Chinese"
No. 35, "Dubai Sh*t," featuring Offset
No. 38, "Huncho Jack"
No. 39, "Motorcycle Patches"
No. 40, "Saint"

Notably, Quavo scores a rare feat of appearing on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in three separate capacities: He’s billed as a soloist on the No. 34 "Ice Tray" with Lil Yachty; as one-half of Huncho Jack; and as one-third of the rap group Migos, which claims three titles on the list, including a No. 42 debut with "Stir Fry."

Billboard Dance Chart Upstarts: Borgeous & Taylr Renee, DJ Head, MK
https://www.billboard.com/articles/news ... dj-head-mk
1/4/2018 by Gordon Murray

Each week, Billboard Dance looks at songs & albums rising on Billboard's dance charts

Borgeous & Taylr Renee, "Sweeter Without You"

Los Angeles-based artists Borgeous (real name John Borger) and Taylr Renee debut at No. 39 on Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart (dated Jan. 6) with "Sweeter Without You." It's the sixth entry on the chart for the DJ/producer, who first scored with his collaboration with DVBBS, "Tsunami" (No. 13, December 2013), and reached his chart high with "Invincible" (No. 4, June 2014). Also the first Billboard chart action for singer Renee, "Sweeter" claims 80 percent of its airplay in the tracking week from SiriusXM's BPM.

DJ Head featuring Geez, "Music Is My Art"

Taipei, Taiwan native DJ Head (real name: Sean Chang) continues climbing Dance Club Songs with his first entry, "Music Is My Art" (28-23). The first appearance for both the progressive house music DJ/producer and Cologne, Germany-based MC Geez (aka Gregorgus Geez), "Music" was remixed by a plethora of international DJs, including Luis Erre, Jose Spinnin Cortes and Mauro Mozart, among others.

DJ Head tells Billboard, "The professional name DJ Head is adopted from a Chinese nickname my close friends call me." As for the song: "I got the inspiration when I attended the Venice Biennale in May. This is a major event in the art industry, with participation by important artists around the world. After seeing paintings, sculptures, installations and performances, it got me thinking about, what is my form of art?

"The music was completed with this inspiration first. Through the help of Gregorgus Geez, we subsequently found this poem by Ammit Shoor, which became the lyrics of the song. The words and the multi-national collaboration seem to work perfectly with the background under which the music was created."

MK, "17"

Detroit native MK (real name: Marc Kinchen) earns his second placement on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, starting at No. 49 with "17." Previously, the DJ/producer's collaboration with Becky Hill, "Piece of Me," rose to No. 30 in May 2016. "17," also up a notch to No. 5 on Mexico Ingles Airplay, sports remixes from Tchami, Solardo, Will Clarke and more. The song banked 276,000 U.S. streams and sold 1,000 downloads in the tracking week, according to Nielsen Music.

Tom Budin & Luciana's 'X' Marks the No. 1 Spot on Dance Club Songs Chart
https://www.billboard.com/articles/colu ... ongs-chart
1/4/2018 by Gordon Murray

Plus, moves for Toni Braxton, Anggun and CamelPhat & Elderbrook.

Australian producer Tom Budin and London-based vocalist Luciana lunge 2-1 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart (dated Jan. 6) with "X With U." The first leader for Budin and seventh for Luciana was remixed by Supermini & Frankie Romano and Exodus & Shawn White, among others.

Luciana recently told Billboard, "I wrote 'X' after I'd heard a girl at a club say to her friend in the toilet that she should have spent the night with a guy she had met earlier; she should have gone with her instincts and just hung out with him so that they could've enjoyed each other. It's so much better to regret the things you have done rather than the things you didn't."

BRAXTON'S BACK IN TOP 10: Also in the Dance Club Songs top 10, Toni Braxton bounds 14-7 with "Coping." It's the veteran R&B singer's first top 10 since her fifth No. 1, "I Heart You," in June 2012. "Coping" (her first entry since "Heart") boasts remixes from the likes of StadiumX, Disco Killerz and Eden Prince.

Braxton earned her first two toppers in 1996: "You're Makin' Me High"/"Let It Flow" and "Un-Break My Heart," which, as it ruled for four weeks beginning Dec. 21, 1996, was on top 20 years ago this week. She led again with "I Don't Want To" (1997) and "Spanish Guitar" (2000).

ANGGUN RETURNS: Further on Dance Club Songs, Anggun appears on a Billboard chart for the first time in nearly 19 years, as "What We Remember" debuts at No. 50. Remixed by Ralphi Rosario, Dirty Disco, Love to Infinity and others, the track is the Indonesian star's first chart action since "Snow on the Sahara" reached No. 16 on the tally, and No. 22 on Adult Pop Songs, in 1998.

BUBBLING UP: On Dance/Mix Show Airplay, U.K. DJ duo CamelPhat (Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala), teaming with London-based Elderbrook (Alexander Kotz), earn their first top 10 each with "Cola" (12-10). Remixed by Franky Rizardo and Mousse T., "Cola" crowned the Nov. 11 Dance Club Songs chart.

Guns N' Roses' Not in This Lifetime Tour Now Fourth-Biggest Tour Ever: $475 Million Earned (and Counting)
https://www.billboard.com/articles/colu ... th-biggest
1/4/2018 by Bob Allen

Guns N’ Roses’ Not In This Lifetime… Tour topped the $475 million mark in gross sales with the wrap of the band’s 2017 touring schedule on Nov. 29. The tour – set to resume in Europe on June 3 – has played to more than 4.3 million fans worldwide at 123 headlining performances on five continents – and that does not include the crowds at various festival appearances during the first two years of the run.

The ongoing tour now ranks as the fourth-highest grossing tour of all time, based on Billboard’s Boxscore archives, surpassing Roger Waters’ The Wall Live tour that earned $459 million from 2010 through 2013. U2 heads up the all-time list with $736 million from its 360° stadium tour (2009-2011) followed by The Rolling Stones’ A Bigger Bang at $558 million (2005-2007). Coldplay is third with its recently completed A Head Full of Dreams trek that grossed $523 million (2016-2017).

Among the highlights of the Guns N' Roses tour so far: The highest-grossing engagement was a two-night stint at London Stadium in June 2017 that racked up $17.6 million at the box office from 140,877 sold tickets. In July 2016, the band logged its top North American gross of $11.6 million at MetLife Stadium in the metropolitan New York City market. Two other headlining runs have topped the $10 million mark in sales: $11 million in Buenos Aires and $10.7 million in São Paulo - both with two-show runs in November 2016 during the tour’s first Latin American leg.

The most recent shows reported to Billboard from the Not In This Lifetime… tour were the final 11 concerts of 2017 that occurred in November. The $17.7 million in grosses from those shows earns GN’R the top slot on this week’s Hot Tours recap (see list below).

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga also lands on the Hot Tours tally this week with the final 2017 box office counts reported from her Joanne Tour. Sold ticket revenue from six venues, all hosting shows in December, totaled $10.2 million – bringing the tour’s overall gross to $85 million since its August 1 launch in Vancouver. From two separate treks through North American cities – August/September and November/December – the pop diva has performed for more than 700,000 fans in both arenas and stadiums.

Her 2018 schedule begins on Jan. 14 with a two-night run at Barcelona’s 16,000-seat arena, Palau Sant Jordi, the first stop on a six-week trek through Europe. She is set to perform 18 concerts in 10 countries before wrapping in Berlin on Feb. 23.

Old Dominion Adds New Top 10 on Country Airplay Chart
https://www.billboard.com/articles/colu ... ry-airplay
1/4/2018 by Jim Asker

The group's "Written in the Sand" rises 11-10.
Old Dominion notches its fifth, and fastest-rising, top 10 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart (dated Jan. 6), as "Written in the Sand" pushes 11-10. The song gains by 9 percent to 21.8 million audience impressions in the tracking week ending Dec. 31, according to Nielsen Music.

The ballad, co-written by the group's Brad Tursi, Trevor Rosen and Matthew Ramsey, along with Shane McAnally (Old Dominion also includes Geoff Sprung and Whit Sellers), is the second single from the band's sophomore full-length studio album Happy Endings. It reaches the chart's top 10 in its 16th chart week, besting the 17-week ascent of the act's second top 10, the No. 2-peaking "Snapback," in 2016.

Old Dominion's three other top 10s all topped the tally: "Break Up With Him" (Nov. 14 and 21, 2015), "Song for Another Time" (Dec. 24, 2016) and Happy Endings' lead track "No Such Thing as a Broken Heart" (Sept. 9, 2017).

Meanwhile, Brett Young's second Country Airplay No. 1, "Like I Loved You," spends a second week at the summit (40.9 million, down 2 percent). The song matches the two-week reign of his first leader, "In Case You Didn't Know," which reached No. 1 on the June 10, 2017-dated chart.

Atop Hot Country Songs (which blends airplay, streaming and sales data), Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line's "Meant to Be" reigns for a fifth week. It leads Country Digital Song Sales for a fourth frame (52,000 downloads sold, up 70 percent) and climbs 36-30 on Country Airplay (4.2 million, up 15 percent).
