UK OCC Chart Midweek Thread: 2018

"Drake is on track for a seventh stint atop the U.K. singles chart with “God’s Plan"? As much as it pains me to contemplate it, that may yet happen, but not this coming frame - he's only done four weeks so far! Careless - presumably a conflation with the albums chart-topper. Seems this Billboard journo may have contracted what is known in Music Week circles as "Alanjonesitis"!

lots of action on album front including a hit for Alan Titchmarsh!

Shame Andrew WK is getting no radio support - his 93 mids probably not enough to stay top 200.

#1 on iTunes last Thursday / Friday but BTS member J-Hope's mini album must be excluded and top of budget albums.

It has been suggested elsewhere that these two tracks, which had somehow been caught by the new "no more than three hits with the same lead artist at the same time" rule (even though, as far as I can tell by the billings, they are performed by quite different people) despite several weeks of good streaming will now replace the two other hits from the same soundtrack in the chart (last week's 22 and 23). The possibility of Gnarls Barkley-style sudden disappearances was raised when the new rule was announced - perhaps it is soon about to start happening, as the other soundtrack hit (last week's number seven) may be affected too before much longer . . . . .

top 100s
http://www.officialcharts.com/charts/si ... rt-update/
The rechristened Dapper (Laughs) Dan at 48.
Nina Nesbitt turns up at 98 :o - after floating about on the indie singles chart and despite radio playlists ignoring it.

http://www.officialcharts.com/charts/al ... rt-update/
Bit odd seeing Judas Priest that high again. :o
Erasure is an orchestral version of the last album so it's not as bad as it looks.
Good to see Turbowolf at 56 - featuring members of Royal Blood and Death From Above as guests.

Yes, the two that were at 22 and 23 last week have now gone to ACR and as a result fall below the two tracks that had been NCQ up to now. Had the "3 hits per main artist" rule not applied then 'The Greatest Show' would be down to number 40 but 'Rewrite The Stars' would be out of the top 40. Also there's the bizarre possibility that 'A Million Dreams' and 'Never Enough' are starting a new chart run with a streaming ratio of 150:1 when had their tracks been chart eligible those tracks too could have been on ACR.

^ There are constantly new generations discovering music. It shouldn't actually be a surprise! Especially with the biggest longest-lasting acts. And if iTunes has a sale it's gonna help. Add streaming into it and these albums are literally immortal.

The two that have vanished moved to ACR which allowed two other tracks which had previously been just behind those two in sales (although without occupying a chart position because of the 3 tracks rule) to now be able to chart.
