Thanks all for posting the charts/info.

BrainD- the Boxscore posted in the 6/23 thread looks quite different from the one that had been posted- for instance, all of the Janet Jackson numbers don't appear in that newly posted one.
The most celebrated and important female artist of the last half-century-plus-who else but the one and only Madonna.

They originally posted only 100 positions like they did a while ago then more were added. I only checked a few but they seemed the same so just thought I was updating

Billboard 200/Catalog Albums Chart Update – June 30, 2018

LONG LIVE THE KING
Michael Jackson died nine years ago this week, but his albums are still a strong presence on the Catalog charts. The Essential Michael Jackson, which soared to the #1 spot for a week in March 2009 three months before his death, returned to the #1 spot for the first time since then on June 16 and remained at #1 on June 23 and 30. The album had spent 16 weeks at #2 since that first week at #1 before finally returning to the top spot; another Jackson collection, Number Ones, gained the ascendancy in the weeks following June 2009… It should be pointed out, though, that these have been weak weeks for Catalog albums on the BB200. The Essential Michael Jackson is at #61 while it tops the Catalog chart, the lowest position for the top-rated Catalog album on the BB200 since July 18, 2015 when Imagine Dragons’ Night Visions was also #61. Not since Florida Georgia Line’s Here’s To The Good Times topped the BB200 for Catalog albums at #62 on May 9, 2015 (and was also the top album at #67 the week before that) has the top Catalog album on the BB200 occupied a lower position… #1 on the Catalog Sales chart was Guardians Of The Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 again on June 16 and June 23, completing a six-week run and 23 weeks total at #1. Taking over at #1 on Catalog Sales on June 30 is Eagles’ Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975, which is #1 for the 16th week overall, and first since 2016.

MIG’S MILESTONES
June 16: Michael Jackson’s The Essential Michael Jackson, in addition to returning to the top of the Catalog chart, reaches 250 weeks total in the top 200 albums. It had only five weeks in its original BB200 run, and 245 weeks since then on the Comprehensive and BB200 charts… Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman reaches 100 weeks total on the BB200, one of 50 catalog-status albums on this week’s BB200 with that many total weeks… Taylor Swift’s 1989 reaches 52 straight weeks on the Catalog chart… Queen’s Greatest Hits makes it to 600 weeks on the Catalog Sales chart… Guardians Of The Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 reaches 26 straight weeks in the top 10, the second time it’s had a run of 6 months or more in the top 10. It was also top 10 for 38 straight weeks from March through November of last year.
June 23: Eagles’ Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975, one of the biggest-selling albums of the 1970s, reaches 100 weeks in the top 200 as a catalog album.
June 30: No particularly significant milestones this week.

NEW ON THE CHARTS
June 16: George Strait’s Icon 2: George Strait (2011) reaches the Catalog (#31) and Catalog Sales (#7) charts for the first time. The album reached the BB200 (for the first time) as a Catalog album for a week in late 2016 and also returns to the BB200 this week.
June 23: Tom Waits’ Small Change (1976) enters the Catalog Sales chart at #37. It’s the third Waits album to enter the chart this year, following 1973’s Closing Time and 1974’s The Heart Of Saturday Night.
June 30: None of the three charts featured in this update had a first time entry.

WANDERING STARS – Reserved for long-absent albums returning to the charts:
June 16: Three country albums get their first weeks on the Catalog Sales chart of 2018: Shania Twain’s Greatest Hits (#18), Zac Brown Band’s Greatest Hits So Far… (#26), and Waylon Jennings’ Ultimate Waylon Jennings (#49).
June 23: Kid Cudi’s Man On The Moon: The End Of Day returns to the Catalog chart for the first time since March 15, 2014, and also enters the BB200 for the first time this year… Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III also enters the BB200 for the first time in 2018.
June 30: Eagles’ Greatest Hits: Volume 2 returns to the Catalog and Catalog Sales charts and to the BB200 for the first time since 2016. The album has over 200 weeks on the Catalog chart (mostly in the chart’s early days), but fewer than 25 weeks total on the top 200 album charts… The Very Best Of Daryl Hall & John Oates returns to the Catalog and Catalog Sales charts for the first time in 2018, and scores its second BB200 week this year. It topped the Catalog chart for two weeks in 2015, getting as high as #34 BB200… Lynyrd Skynyrd’s All Time Greatest Hits, The Cars’ The Complete Greatest Hits, and 3 Doors Down’s The Greatest Hits all return to the Catalog Sales chart for the first time this year. The first of these had already been on the Catalog and BB200 charts.

CATALOG NOTES – From the Catalog and Catalog Sales charts – Parenthetical numbers are overall weeks in the top 10 followed by 2018 weeks in the top 10:
June 16: On the Catalog chart: Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo (#4) and Zac Brown Band’s Greatest Hits So Far… (#8) re-enter the top 10, both for the second week. Both surpass their previous peak (Pablo was #5 earlier this year; Zac Brown reached #10 in 2017)… Ed Sheeran’s x leaves the top 10 after a 22 week run… Shawn Mendes’ Illuminate rises to a new peak of #5.
On the Catalog Sales chart: George Strait’s Icon 2: George Strait enters the chart at #7… Eric Clapton’s Icon: Eric Clapton gets its second week in the top 10, after having its first back on September 13, 2014 in its third week on the chart. Both top 10 weeks were at #10… Also returning to the top 10 is Johnny Cash’s The Legend Of Johnny Cash (114/2)… Lynyrd Skynyrd’s live retrospective of their first two studio albums leaves the chart from #2.
June 23: On the Catalog chart: Eminem’s Curtain Call: The Hits (67/18) returns to #4 after falling to #27 from that position last week, and is the week’s only returning album in the top 10… Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo falls back to #20 from #4.
On the Catalog Sales chart: Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon (476/2) is the only returning top 10 album this week. It replaces Icon: Eric Clapton, which got its first top 10 week in almost 4 years last week.
June 30: On the Catalog chart: Eagles score their first top 10 week of 2018 with Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 (#7). The album is back in the Catalog top 10 for week #175 overall, their first since January 21, 2017… Also returning to the top 10 is Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Greatest Hits at #3 (88/10)… Drake’s Take Care drops to #6, but extends its top 10 run to 25 weeks. Also over 10 weeks are Imagine Dragons’ Night Visions (18 weeks) and Bob Marley & The Wailers’ Legend (14).
On the Catalog Sales chart: Eagles’ Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 re-enters the chart at #1 for its first top 10 week of 2018, 175th overall, and first since January 2017… Three other albums return to the top 10: Def Leppard’s Vault: Greatest Hits 1980-1995 (78/2) at #5, Beyonce’s Lemonade (9/9) at #7, and Crystal Visions: The Very Best Of Stevie Nicks (3/2) at #10… Guardians Of The Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 ends a six-week run at #1, but still moves up to 28 straight weeks in the top 10. Also over 10 weeks are Metallica’s Metallica (25 weeks) and Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band’s Icon: Greatest Hits (14)… Johnny Cash’s The Legend Of Johnny Cash and George Strait’s Icon 2: George Strait drop out of the Catalog Sales chart from #4 and #10, respectively.

Billboard 200 Chart Moves: Buddy Guy's 'Alive' Logs Biggest Sales Week for a Blues Album in Nearly a Year
6/28/2018 by Keith Caulfield

— XXXTentacion, Revenge – No. 30 — As the late rapper/singer returns to the top 10 with his two studio efforts (? And 17, at Nos. 3 and 7, respectively), his mixtape Revenge jumps back onto the list, and at a new peak.
Revenge — which was his first of three charting sets — reaches a new high as it re-enters the list at No. 30 (16,000 units; up 386 percent). It previously topped out at No. 44 (June 10, 2017).

Collectively for the week ending June 21, XXXTentacion’s albums tallied a 401 percent increase in equivalent album units earned (rising to 175,000 from 35,000). His song catalog claimed 226 million on-demand audio streams, up 357 percent.

— Rebelution, Free Rein – No. 41 — Rebelution’s Free Reign launches with 13,000 units at No. 41, and also starts at No. 1 on the Reggae Albums chart (10,000 copies sold). With their eighth No. 1 on Reggae Albums, the group breaks out of a tie with Matisyahu for the second-most No. 1s in the 24-year history of the list. Bob Marley leads all acts, with 18 chart-toppers.

— Buddy Guy, The Blues Is Alive and Well – No. 69 — Blues legend Buddy Guy clocks his 13th entry on the Billboard 200, as his new studio set, The Blues Is Alive and Well, bows at No. 69 (10,000 units). But, over on the Blues Albums chart, the set arrives at No. 1, granting Guy his sixth leader on the tally.

The 81-year-old first led the 22-year-old Blues Albums chart in 2001 with Sweet Tea. The seven-time Grammy Award winner also collected leaders with Skin Deep (2008), Living Proof (2010), Rhythm & Blues (2013) and Born to Play Guitar (2015).

Notably, Guy’s new set logs the largest sales week (9,000 in traditional album sales) for a blues album in nearly a year. The last blues effort to sell more in a week was the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band’s Lay It On Down, which sold 13,000 when it arrived at No. 1 on the Blues Albums chart dated Aug. 26, 2017.

— Chromeo, Head Over Heels – No. 91 — It’s the third charting set for the duo but the fourth go-round on the chart for the title “Head Over Heels.” Previously, Paula Abdul (1995), Alex Bugnon (1990) and Poco (1975) all hit the list with Head Over Heels albums.

— Eagles, Greatest Hits: Volume 2 – No. 168 — The 1982 album returns to the chart for the first time in over two years thanks in part to sale pricing in the iTunes Store. The 10-song collection boasts seven top 40-charting hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
