Abba had another platinum disc for 'Forever gold'. This contains both Abba gold and More Abba gold. It could be argued that Abba gold is 18x platinum.

From BPI,
BEATLES - HEY JUDE
Silver Certification (Single) 12 May 2017
UNIVERSAL MUSIC (APPLE CORPS)
Released 01 January 2000

Strange release date. Digital download from November 2010.
Original sales 950,000 plus 200,000 downloads = 1,150,000 to date?

EDIT: Release date now given as 16 November 2010.

That's their standard release date for anything they don't know.

They should have asked me - I would have told them Friday 30th August 1968. :D
Suppose its a default value in their database for any release date before April 1973.

BEATLES - LET IT BE
Silver Certification (Single) 19 May 2017
UNIVERSAL MUSIC (APPLE CORPS)
Released 16 November 2010

Digital release was in 2010. As well as streams there might be some physical sales from 1994 on the OCC database.
Let it be was also awarded a Silver Disc for 250,000 sales on 11th April 1970. Overall sales are approaching half a million.

Both Hey Jude and Let it be topped 80,000 download sales by September 2012.

Forest14 -- It is the Video (DVD), version of 'Forever Gold' that has been given a UK Platinum Disk - for 50,000+ Sales.

The 'Forever Gold' Double CD has a Silver Disk -- for 60,000+ UK Sales.

A new look and horribly hard to see the BPI awards given to each artist...

And I'm going crazy or now we CAN'T see how many times a record went Platinum???
They only show "multi-platinum" but don't show how many platinums were awarded.

What a stupidity. Or I'm missing something??
One more example of "looks" over" substance"...

Don't worry - they are still working on their new site. It was released too early. Next update 1st October?

They need to add a few numbers to these charts. Are they adding in previous awards by DISC magazine?

Obviously these are wrong.

The revamped site, epecially the certifications database is a total mess. I'm hoping this is just a temporary problem and the BPI are able to make the site and the database more user friendly.

They have confused the Let it be album (GOLD) with the Let it be single (SILVER).
A poorly designed database. The search facility is even worse than the search facility on the old web site.
Why unveil a new web site when it is obviously not ready - a work in progress?

BPI web site is improving. Now showing multi-platinum figures.
Search facility is still very poor - they should have a look at the RIAA advanced search facility.
Album covers not yet available.
Line graphs are just silly - would not pass a GCSE exam.

Some titles are wrong, but with the release date most problems can be solved - but the Redbone thing from 2005 definitely is no single... :o

'Life Of Pablo' becomes first album to go Gold on streams alone!
https://www.bpi.co.uk/news-analysis/lif ... ams-alone/

Kanye West has always been pretty innovative when it comes to music and this week he is leading the way as 'Life Of Pablo' becomes the first album to go Gold based on streams alone!
'Life Of Pablo' is in good company as all of Kanye's other albums have been certified including his collaboration with Jay Z 'Watch The Throne' now a Platinum seller.
Kanye's highest certified albums are 'Late Registration' & 'The College Drop Out' both 2x Platinum.
Could 'Life Of Pablo' become the first album to reach Platinum on streams alone? Time will tell!
