Another BPI certification for The Beatles.
Twist and Shout
has gone Sliver for 200,000 sales.
If you could add on EP sales of 800,000 they would have another UK million seller.

Lol Brian, they (the OCC) seem to do as they please mate, so why not add on the EP sales and have another million seller to the endless list of increasingly irrelevant awards? I mean, they have done it already with 'Jailhouse Rock' which is 'allowed' in Presley's all-time list but maybe not in other tabulations like 'million sellers'?

Who actually keeps up any more? Ohttps://www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic ... 25bviously not me although I see counting track playing has already added another silver to Elvis' collection under automated rules - 'Burning Love' having gone over 200k. As I've mentioned elsewhere, why not just fastforward a few years and recognise 40-50 Presley/Beatles tracks as automatic awards now and be done with it. What does it all prove?

Anyway, aside from my usual 'bah, humbug' on this topic I hope you're passing a convivial festive season mon ami? We all could do with a break from the Xmas songs chart invasion too btw...

Hi topicel,
I've been reading your posts and have found them to be very informative as I have been researching the 3 major charts to determine record sales.
I was wondering if you had any record sales for the group The Monkees or if you could help me determine record sales using the charts like you did with the Jackson 5?Any help would be appreciated.Feel free to send me a personal message.
Thank you,shane2167.

7 singles now at 4 times platinum and over 30 on 3 times platinum.
And most of those were released in recent years.
Streaming sales have a large effect on sales these days.
(Three more tracks passed 3 times platinum on Friday.)

From BPI,
Beatles - Here Comes The Sun - Apple Corps - Gold - Single - 08.06.2018 - 16.11.2010 400,000

It went Silver on 18/11/16 after 6 years but another 200,000 sales in just 18 months.
Obviously mostly due to streams.
