Hi David,

you wrote that a new edition of the "Solo Exitos"-book until year 2012 is released.
Can you tell me, please, is the data until 2002 the same or did they fix some of the errors in the book?
I remember that a song of Sabrina was missed and that some album titles has been listed as singles.
And do the pages in the new book look same like in the old one or is there a new look?

Cheers
Nino

I ordered the book from Spain yesterday, but it needs 12 to 15 work days´til it is here in Germany, so it´ll last until the 3rd week of July ´til I can compare them. Maybe the Spanish people already have the book...

I bought it last week and the info until 2002 is the same. They haven't fixed any mistakes. They didn't bothered. Even the info post 2002 is incomplete. They only use the top 50 albums instead of the top 100. Tke look of the pages is much better in this edition, with some more pictures and features for every year. It weights a lot.
They use the artists album charts for 2003 excluding compilations so that year is different with what I have. Promusicae website doesn't include that year in the database.
Digital songs charts start in 2008 in the book. They missed 2007. There is a year end top 10 ringtones chart instead.
There is an artist index at the end but is a mess. It's not in a chronological order and everything is mixed (singles,albums...).
So I wouldn't buy the book unless you really want it.

Hm, I´m about to cancel as long as the order hasn´t been processed yet. Wanted to have it only for the 2003 data, but as this seem to be incomplete, it isn´t worth more than the old book if I have (nearly) all data from 2004 onwards, right? Are the peak positions corresponding to your data? And where did you get your 2003 data from? As I know these ones aren´t archived, but they must have been published somewhere somewhen :D

The peak positions doesn't correspond with the data I have because my charts include compilations and the charts of the book exclude them; my charts start excluding compilations only from october 2003 and on.
I remember getting the charts from a spice girls forums called http://spiceheart.mforos.com; they usually published the charts from a magazine called portalmix or something; I could post the whole 2003 year here if you want, just the way I have it in my archives.

I only found this site some time ago, but did not check yet if the data corresponds with the book and the archive from 2004 onwards. Maybe you can check the book info and your 2003 data with the one on this website?

Ok David, so as there is nothing fixed in the book there is no need for me to buy it.
I'm happy with the first edition and after 2002 the songs which have charted in Spanish charts have started to be more commercial and nothing special than in the wonderful 90s, in which every weekly Top 10-list was a big surprise.
So with the old book I still have all data that I needed.
Thank you friend, for all information

Cheers

Hi I'm wondering did Billie Myers chart with 'Kiss the Rain' or "Besa la lluvia" (Piensa en mí).'' as I believe it was released as in Spain? Late 1997 - early 1998 perhaps? Thanks.

It only charted in the Top 40 radio chart (Los 40 principales) in summer'98 peaking at #10; It was the English version which was played on radio.

The most important sales charts in the 60s, 70s and 80s before the official ones started in 1986.
I prefer the superventas peaks rather than the ones in the book, which combines other minor sources.
