I'm newbie
:)
From the Current Albums chart catalog titles are removed. An album becomes a catalog title when it's more than 18 months old and has fallen below position 100 on the Billboard 200.
Thank you for your explaining
Do you know Taiwan? If not, check the map, it's in Southeastern Asia and beside mainland China, BUT YOU MUST KNOW, it doesn't belong to China!

Thanks as always, BrainD.

Odd that it shows a zero next to Spears' entry on Hot 100 Airplay, rather than "NEW."
The most celebrated and important female artist of the last half-century-plus-who else but the one and only Madonna.

Billboard 200/Catalog Albums Chart Update - March 19, 2011

3rd And 19: Adele's "19" remains in the top 40 sellers this week and tops the Catalog chart for a third straight week as her new album "21" is #1 for a second week. Only 16 albums by female solo artists have topped the Catalog chart in its 20-year existence (plus three more by all-female acts); of these 16, "19" is now tied for sixth in number of weeks at the top spot.

Trivia Question: Which album by a female artist has the most weeks at #1 on the Catalog chart? It also has the most consecutive weeks at #1, and the most weeks on the chart overall, for an album by a female artist. The answer is later in this article.

We Will Rock (With) You: Queen's "Greatest Hits: We Will Rock You", yet another repackaging of their hits, reaches the chart for the first time this year at a new high mark of #9. This album appears to have surpassed "Greatest Hits" as the popular Queen hits package; that album has 565 weeks on the Catalog chart, but has never made it to #1.
Could Michael Jackson's "Number Ones" be poised for a return to the Catalog top spot? It leaps to #55 on the Billboard 200 this week. The album made it all the way to #1 on the Comprehensive chart (before catalog albums were included in the Billboard 200) in the wake of his passing nearly two years ago, and was #1 on Catalog for 18 weeks in 2009 and another 10 weeks in early 2010. It hasn't been to #1 on Catalog in exactly a year.

Milestones: Jamey Johnson's "That Lonesome Song" reaches the 50-week mark on the Catalog chart this week. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift's self-titled debut album makes it an even year on the Catalog chart. It's at 228 total weeks on the Billboard 200, and going strong.
With his continued Catalog success in 2011, Eminem reaches new heights on the Billboard 200 with "The Marshall Mathers LP" and "Relapse". Both albums are at their highest positions on the Billboard 200 (#78 and #139, respectively) since achieving Catalog status.

New On The Chart: Only one album reaches the Catalog chart for the first time this week. Country singer Chris Young's "The Man I Want To Be" comes in at #37. This is the second album by this former winner of "Nashville Star", an "American Idol"-style country music competition, and his first to reach the Catalog chart. It made it to #19 on the Billboard 200 in 2009 and has spent 52 weeks on the Billboard 200 - where it was charting as a current album just last week.
Making its first trip to the Billboard 200 as a Catalog album is Dr. Dre's "Dr. Dre -- 2001" at #189. This album has been on the Catalog chart for just five weeks but in parts of four different years (2001, 2002, 2009, 2011).

Chart Multiples Update: Four artists have two or more albums on this week's chart; the Beatles leave this list as "Abbey Road" drops out:
1. Eminem: He loses one album, "The Eminem Show", off the Catalog chart, but three others are in the top 20.
2. Michael Jackson: "Number Ones" is now #2, but his other two albums cling to two of the last three spots.
3. Taylor Swift: She should stay on the list for a while with "Fearless" and "Taylor Swift".
4. Stevie Ray Vaughan: "In Session", with Albert King, and "Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues" both remain on the chart.

Here are the catalog albums on this week's Billboard 200:

Answer to Trivia Question: "Watermark" by Enya spent 17 weeks atop the Catalog chart, all in 1992; it was #1 for 15 straight weeks from May 16 through August 22. At 305 total weeks (all spent between 1991 and 1997, with a brief return in 2001 and 2002), it is #29 for Catalog chart longevity. Only two of the 28 albums ranked ahead of it have female members that feature prominently: Fleetwood Mac's "Greatest Hits" (462 weeks) and ABBA's "Gold -- Greatest Hits" (455 weeks).
Interesting note: On the Country Catalog chart, Patsy Cline's "12 Greatest Hits" is the top album in the chart's history, with 251 weeks at #1 alone! It has only made it to #6 on the Pop Catalog chart, but at 290 weeks on the chart it is #3 for longevity among female solo albums, behind Enya and "Janis Joplin's Greatest Hits" (291 weeks).

Catalog Notes: Big jumps this week for Rascal Flatts and Bob Seger bring them back into the top 20. Also, Kid Rock, in danger of falling off the Billboard 200 after a run of nearly eight months, takes a 32-position jump on the Billboard 200 to stay out of danger.

^^Why? I thought it was still charting in the Billboard 200? Does it hold the record for the most weeks in that chart?

Since the end of 2009, you can chart both catalog and top 200.

I know Guns N' Roses' Greatest Hits held the record for 138 weeks before going Catalog, but Taylor Swift's debut now holds the record for 176 weeks (compared to 116 for Fearless).

Remind me again what has to happen for the album to be moved into the Catalog Charts, I was so sure Fearless was gonna destroy Taylor Swift's record.

Both albums were knocked off the Billboard Current chart by the 78 week rule which removes any album charting below # 100 in any week after 78 weeks on the chart.

Likely the weakness of Speak Now sales is the reason why Fearless sales also dropped.
Red took 5 weeks to hit 2m in US sales. Speak Now took 6. Fearless took 7. Taylor Swift took 61. 1989 hit 2m in 3 weeks...
