It looks like you removed The Lost Boys soundtrack from the list a while back? That one was certified Gold in 1987 and had scanned either 700 or 800-something thousand since 1991 (as of 8 or 9 years ago). Still no updated cert.

19 albums from this list were removed in 2016 due to certifications. For 2015, only 7 albums were removed.

I thought more albums would be re-certified with the updated RIAA album certification requirements.

The Carpenters back catalogue surely needs looking at?

^Every act from the 1960s/1970s probably needs updating.

Deep catalog certs have become rare. Labels are certifying newer albums. That's why they changed the requirements.

ABBA
Title: GOLD - GREATEST HITS
Certification Date: June 25, 2002 - almost 17 years ago
Label: POLYGRAM
Format: ALBUM
6xP

The list on the front page is based on SoundScan sales.

I purposely did not list albums with old certs because it would be a long list and too many to accurately list.

HEART. We Heartmongers know a large proportion of their catalogue needs updating. I could try to find out if Epic and Capitol have a phobia of gold and platinum awards.

Can Van Halen's A Different Kind of Truth be certified? It was at 411,000 pure sales at the end of 2012.

^Probably, but will the label bother?? Contact Van Halen and tell them to ask their label about it.

7 albums have been removed from this list so far in 2017.
