^ Just to be clear, that hasn't been confirmed with evidence outside of ISIS saying so. It's not uncommon for them to claim responsibility.

Even without ISIS, it could still be a terrorist attack if it's proven that he had some kind of social or political reasons. Domestic or otherwise.

CNN is reporting it is 58 dead, 515 injured. :(

And ISIS claims responsibility for any mass shooting that gets news coverage.

Police: No known link between shooter and any foreign terror group.

And with 515 injured as noted above, that leaves a large possibility that the death toll will continue to rise.

How can one man be responsible for injuring over 500 people?? :o :o Just the most insane thing and a horrendous act of terrorism (and please don't let any people tell me this is not terrorism).

Shooter bought guns legally, early reports indicate.

This is the scariest part. The type of guns he used shouldn't be legal for civilians, anywhere, for any reason, period.

Las Vegas shooter made gambling transactions worth "tens of thousands of dollars" in recent weeks.

That wasn't the case with this incident. It was all bullet wounds. He was spraying the crowd with machine guns.

In case the OP wonders, I updated the topic title with most recent casualty numbers.

This is one of the most horrific incidents I've ever read about - the sheer number of injured people is unfathomable.

515 injured, 58 dead - countless thousands more family and friends impacted.

Oh god, now 58 dead?! That's beyond shocking and disheartening.

The damage that this one individual caused can never be repaired... as Wayne said... thousands of people are affected by this - the families.

I had lunch today with my mother and we talked about this, and I asked her what she would do if it were my brother and me who got killed while attending a concert... and she said, she would not rest until the person is dead.

Now, he is dead... he got off way too easy in my opinion. Sometimes, death is too kind for some ppl.

I pray for the families and everyone who was harmed in body and mind. RIP to the victims and may we all learn from this.

Absolutely disgusting and terrible, the videos give me chills and make me feel so strange, it seems like it's not even real but it is :o The US and guns are just a topic that will keep going on while more and more people are killed

And I can't believe that so soon after all of this, when many are dead and many affected, people on the internet are already saying this was a government cover up and coming up with theories

Moments after the news broke, twitter bots were already spreading manufactured misinformation about the gunman's name and political affiliation. I can't even be mad at the bots, it's the people that retweet this stuff without any confirmation whatsoever, all in the name of blaming "the other side", in this case, the "extreme left" as they called it. While I still don't think we know what his political stance was, does it even matter? It may have had nothing to do with his reason.

The biggest irony so far today was Trump saying 'Our unity cannot be shattered'... when it's already shattered and has been for awhile now... thanks to his continued divisive rhetoric every chance he gets.

And give the Republicans a get out of jail free card?

This should be summarised as what it is - a damning indictment of America's shitty gun control laws, once again leading to the most substantial loss of life.
