Ok, I’m not a Sam Smith fan by any means. Don’t get me wrong. Back in the day when he released the Nirvana EP I loved him and when he was oon Latch and Omen he’s so much more exciting but I felt that he became so generic when the album came out and was only really here for Like I can off that album. However I love Pray so much that I’m going to listen to this album now. Too good at goodbyes is so generic though.
Most listened to albums at the moment:
Christina Aguilera - Liberation
Lily Allen - No Shame
Kali Uchis - Isolation

I hope they release No Peace as the next single even Burning and Pray are better than One Last Song imo

Hugely disappointed- loved his first album but this is so dreary.

Some people have said it takes a few listens so I’ll try and stick with it.

I don't understand how people can love his debut and not like this. They're easily on par with each other.

There no instant favorites, first time I listen "Like I can" I loved it. Even the lead I needed to listen twice to like it.

I agree there's nothing as instant as 'Like I Can' or nothing near as upbeat either. But Say It First is very catchy after a few listens and Burning/Pray/HIM triad is amazing.

I can see why One Last Song is the 2nd single, its more uptempo than the rest of the album. For 3rd single No Peace seems obvious. I wonder would Nothing Left for You end up as a single because it's very radio friendly

I can't believe this album gets so much hate online; personally I think it's on par with his debut or even better.

I also strongly disagree that there are no instant favourites on the record. - When I listened to "HIM" for the very first time, I fell in love with it and I think it has potential to become my favourite song performed by Sam. - It's emotional, soul-ish, it even has a catchy hook and the arrangement is brilliant.

"Say It First" may not be as catchy as "Like I Can" on the first listen but it's very memorable and is basically a track which could work for OneRepublic (if they stop turning into Maroon 5 2.0).

YEBBA steals Sam's thunder on No Peace. What a vocal.

Can she become the next Adele? Stay tuned.

This album is a massive grower. All in all a beautiful album. Well done, Sam.

Now release the third single.

Just watched it for the very first time. What an amazing performance! I'm speechless, he basically sounded better than on CD. The backing singers compliment his voice perfectly. Will he take those two with him on tour? - Does Sam Smith usually sing that way? I mean, is he able to hold on that quality through a whole concert?

I am thinking of getting one of the very, very, very, few tickets left for one of his concerts in Germany but I am not sure... :D Has anyone of you seen him live yet?

Edit:
Ok, there were like <10 seats left in the whole arena. Just purchased a ticket.
Can't wait and hopefully, he will be great live!

Last night, I attended his concert and I have to say that I am still very much impressed.
I mean, I didn't plan to go there and just bought a ticket last month. After going to Sam's concert, I can definitely say that I made a good decision!
Sam was effing brilliant. He was so sincere, charming, joyful and totally entertaining - which I didn't expect because his music can be quite depressing and sad most of the time. He sold his songs to the crowd and he was smiling, dancing, looking totally fab and his vocals were amazing! - I think it was one of the most impressive concerts I have ever attended and I guess, it even made me a big fan!
The setlists was incredible and I loved the stage and his band as well as his super talented backing singers. They complemented his voice perfectly! Hopefully, they will release a live DVD and CD of this tour!
"HIM" was my personal highlight. It toally worked live and the lights/visual were stunning and it was such a personal, fragile but also empowering performance!
Strangeley, "Say It Right" didn't work live but the rest was excellent!

Btw, the arena was sold out and there were no empty seats left and I was surprised to see such a mixed crowd. Talent won and I am so happy he is so successful whilst being a "proud gay man" and he can attract such a huge crowd! He's amazing!
+ He just received excellent reviews in the German press!

Sounds really good. Glad you enjoyed it so much.

I've seen many big artists live in concert and I guess the one who impressed me most was Lara Fabian. Glad I'm gonna see her again next month.
