I don't care how she's releasing it. I'm just happy she is
3 months and I'm still sober, picked all my weeds but kept the flowers!

This is true.
However, I hope she puts some effort in it.

I hope her cover of True Faith will be there, it kinda became one of my favorite songs from her.

There will be around 16 tracks on the GH album. It will be called "The Song Diaries". We know 8 tracks that are going to be on the GH album:

1. A Pessimist Is Never Disappointed
2. Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)
3. Murder On The Dancefloor
4. Move This Mountain
5. Catch You
6. Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)
7. Bittersweet
8. Love Is A Camera

Sophie also has a brilliant new single with LCAW called "Hummingbird". You can listen to the song here on this thread.

The tracklist is fine so far, though I definitely want to have "Take Me Home", "Get Over You", "Me and My Imagination", "Today the Sun's on Us" and "Come with Us" on this album as well.

Cute that she also makes a little tribute to her old band with "A Pessimist is Never Disappointed" being part of the tracklist.

Well, she did say that there will be at least one song representing each album...and considering that she doesn't like the lyrics to I Won't Change You anymore, the odds are in favour of Mixed Up World.

It will be a shame if "If You can't Do It When You're Young; When Can You Do It?" doesn't make the final cut.

^The lyrics of 'I Won't Change You' are too cute! I wish she'd include it.

She's embarrassed by the "underwear" line now. I don't blame her though - most of the album came from a dark place in her life. It was a very personal album. I think she mentioned sometime that she wrote this song after meeting with Richard.

Having said that, I think she can use the lyrics from the alternate sampler version. I think some versions of the album even have the last line from the sampler version erroneously printed in the booklet.

I used to change my hair like I change my mind
To be in with the in-crowd, though its not the case I find
They say a change of scene is good as the rest
But after seeing you I know that here is best

instead of:

I used to change my style like I changed my mind
I tried to change a tyre but I'm not that way inclined
Tried to change my figure my diet too
I'll still change my underwear if that's okay with you

Aww really I had no idea. I always really liked that line. It's fun and cute and the song has a nice message to it.
It's my favourite from 'Shoot From The Hip'.

:( I hope Sophie comes to terms with the Shoot From The Hip era, it used to give me so much life. The album is freaking gutsy for a sophomore release from a mainstream pop artist. It has such a unique sound and I love the entire album! I rushed out to the nearest store to get it immediately after I heard "I Won't Change You". Really hope Mixed Up World makes the cut (also Nowhere Without You, Party In My Head, Making Music, and I Won't Dance With You).

That said, I wonder how this will do. Sophie has yet to put out a proper greatest hits album, has she? There's still a chance she could make a comeback!

EDIT: Heather Small is doing an Orchestral Greatest Hits on PledgeMusic too.

Shoot From The Hip will remain her dark horse album for me. It’s still an incredible record and I love every song on that album. It’s a shame that most fans don’t share this opinion.

It's overall her weakest album for me, though I really like "Mixed Up World", "I Won't Change You" and "The Walls Keep Saying Your Name".

I think some people were hoping for more disco and were let down by that. But otherwise, Shoot was actually well received by fans back then. Its under-performance led to a lot of negativity about the album years later. But it didn't under-perform because it was a bad album; it was aborted mid-way because Sophie had to give birth. In hindsight, the whole process was so traumatizing for her. So I understand why she took time off to be a mother.

A lot of her newer fans (the ones who discovered her during the Trip era) dislike the album because it's not dance-y enough. They're mostly the same people who dislike Wanderlust and Familia too.

For those of you who pre-ordered the album on PledgeMusic, there's a little video update. You can hear a little more of Catch You. It sounds big!

Music Gets The Best Of Me and Take Me Home are confirmed too.

So far, we have:
    A Pessimist Is Never Disappointed
    Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)
Take Me Home (A Girl Like Me)
    Murder On The Dancefloor
    Move This Mountain
Music Gets The Best Of Me
    Catch You
    Me And My Imagination
    Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)
    Bittersweet
    Not Giving Up On Love
    Young Blood
    Love Is A Camera
I think we have 3 more to go. There are still so many more singles to choose from:
    I Got The Wherewithal
If You Can't Do It When You're Young; When Can You Do It?
    I Know Enough (I Don't Get Enough)
    Get Over You
    Mixed Up World
    I Won't Change You
    Today The Sun's On Us
    Can't Fight This Feeling
    Starlight
    Runaway Daydreamer
    The Deer And The Wolf
    Come With Us
    Crystallize
    Wild Forever
    Death Of Love
I'm worried that Shoot From The Hip won't be represented... Also, Today The Sun's On Us HAS TO BE on her GH album. It's definitely one of her best songs.

Read My Lips is already amply represented. It would be a shame if she ignored Shoot From The Hip though. Also, its funny how she picked all of her Top 40 singles (except Not Giving Up On Love) and ignored the rest (except Love Is A Camera):

A Pessimist Is Never Disappointed - #27
Groovejet (If This Ain't Love) - #1
Take Me Home (A Girl Like Me) - #2
Murder On The Dancefloor - #2
Move This Mountain - #3
Music Gets The Best Of Me - #14
Catch You - #8
Me And My Imagination - #23
Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) - #13
Bittersweet - #25
Not Giving Up On Love - #165
Young Blood - #34
Love Is A Camera - NA

Out of the missing songs, “Today the Sun’s on Us”, “Mixed Up World” and “Get Over You” have the best chances to be on this album imo. Maybe “Come with Us” as well because it was a lead single and it would be a bit surprising if she completely ignored “Familia” for this.

‘Today The Sun’s On Us’ has to be on the tracklist. One of her best.
