She decribes the song as a laidback fun and "sexy" and "cocky" tune <3

I saw a couple of her live performances and it's safe to say her voice isn't impressive at all.

+ especially not Melodifestivalen

I mean, Margaret - as a vocalist - is as good as Ace Wilder and she even won the public vote and ended up being #2 just a few points behind Sanna's "Undo".
Also, Eric Saade - one of the most horrible voices in the Swedish music industry - won the festival & Danny becoming #2 behind Loreen is tragic as well.

It's common sense that the Swedish preslection allows backing vocals and even lip-syncing. As long as Margaret delivers a great performance + have a killer track, she has a fair shot, in my opinion...and when it comes to Eurovision, Sweden knows how to pull off an amazing performance and getting the right backing singers to give the audience the impression that their entrant actually can sing (see Eric Saade) :D

Margaret has a tough opposition in Mariette, who is both charismatic and a strong vocalist.
And foreign acts usually flop in Mello for some reason.

Dunno. Margaret's "Cool Me Down" went Platinum in Sweden and she's already performed on several TV shows and festivals + Arash is famous/popular there. Of course, she'll struggle but I think she can reach the final.

I read comparisons with Helena Paparizou online (that Helena failed because she had been considered to be "Greek" even though she was born in Sweden, etc.) but let's face it (Helena's stunning vocal performance aside), her song came 10 years too late and was a cheesy old-fashioned Schlager-esque ballad.

she will sound fine in melodifestivalen because of pre-recorded backing vocals but i am wondering...is she doing melodi to gain popularity in Sweden and push this new single or she really wants to represent Sweden in ESC? As far as i remember she said she's not interested in ESC now (they asked her if she would do it for PL again).

Anyway, i think she will struggle but it always depends on the song and the other SF songs.

Helena did not fail because she was Greek, she was huge back with Antique and she got 12p from Sweden in 2005. She had a few hits however she chose to focus on her Greek career and people forgot her + the new generation did not really know who she was when she returned and took part in Melodifestivalen.
Survivor was a nice song but not as strong as Undo for instance. Helena did not really want to take part in ESC again and i am sure she knew she wouldn't win anyway. It was a good platform for her to return to the Swedish music scene.

What's probably worth a mention: both Songwriters/Producers (Linnea Deb and Arash) are Swedish

Today, some press/journalists were able to listen to it:

Margaret bringing her best Camila Cabello! It's Havanna meeting early Rihanna and Zara Larsson. This could be on the top of any Spotify-list right now.
Personally, I think Margaret is by far my favorite song this week. It's just exactly like the songs I listened to all last year. And yes! There IS a Cabana-nah-nah-nah!! :D :D

Still can't sing live (only when the backing track kicks in during the chorus).
The song is bland.
