I’m glad this is representing us this year, the chorus is catchy AF! I think she stands a good chance of being in the top 15 with this!

I agree, this could do well with the international juries so even with poor televotes the UK could still do respectfully.

It really comes alive with the live performance, it's not a million miles away from Clean Bandit and she sounds like BETSY/Clare Maguire/Annie Lennox!

I'm really hopeful for our best result since Jade with this.

There has to be a revamp, but it needs to elevate it, not drown her out.

If they don't revamp it, then it stands no chances at all, but hey it's Eurovision so you never know

I think I get why they liked SuRie so much. All the drunk guys in the audience thought she's Annie Lennox.

Last place in televoting, for sure.
(Spain and Germany are sighing right now)

Okay-ish vocals and I like her self-confidence but that song is utterly horrendous.

haha i think i read that somewhere in twitter..

I guess she got big reception because she is very likable and her vocals were good compared to the big favorite of the night (Asanda). Also, it's very anthemic.

I was surprised but there were tons of retweets comparing her to Annie Lennox.
SuRie gives me a very basic EDM/pop song vibes, reminds of Lidia Isac's ''Falling Stars'' (Moldova 2016) or Tanja's ''Amazing'' (Estonia 2014). The floppage is real

this year is kinda weak, so I suppose 2-3 songs will still be lower than UK, even Electro Velvet didn't come last (4th from bottom), so SuRie has a chance at being around 20th place

Congrats, they somehow managed to make it even worse  :-? the UK annoys me in the contest, nobody expects them to bring their A or even B list musicians but surely they can do better than this?

I've said it before and i'll say it again; the BBC don't want to host eurovision, but insist on broadcasting the final because it's usually a ratings winner for them.

If the BBC really wanted to host, they'd be going all out to win every juries' 12 points and as many televotes from across europe. Until that day comes, the UK will always be bottom half of the scoreboard. Guaranteed.

Even last year the UK still ended up in the bottom half and that was with decent jury support. SuRie is definitely gonna do worse than Lucie Jones did, and you're sadly right that this new version has managed to suck the bit of life that was in the original.

Well done BBC.

yeah, you can pick an act simply by scrolling youtube section of newly released music videos.
there's gonna be up to 10+ more exciting releases in the variety of genres by young and aspiring UK acts who can use Eurovision as a massive promo.
there's also BBC introducing which can be used.
If BBC wants some good live musicians, there are various acoustic session channels, radio stations available on YT as well, it takes a little time and not much effort.

I feel like last year’s UK entry was very underrated.

Last years UK entry wasn't too bad, it certainly deserved better from the televote and she performed it really well

Lucie was a bit too theatrical last year, her facial expressions went straight to the gifs

And the song was not good either. It was listenable, for sure, but very exhausting to listen to the chorus.
I can totally get it why she got just a few points in televoting. It was simply irritating.
