First single in 8 years ahead of their reunion tour and new album, this has gone straight to #1 on iTunes with a big lead after being released today (but I imagine it’ll freefall during the weekend).

It’s not on YouTube yet but is on Spotify.

It’s mid-tempo and really average IMO, a bit of a Castle On The Hill rehash, lazy Ed Sheeran!

It’s not bad but it sounds very much like an Ed reject rather than a song written specifically for Westlife.

As big as the band was at its peak in the UK and especially Ireland, I am sure that their people would be here for a comeback of them. This of course requires strong song material that shows both their musical roots and their ability for artistic growth (see Take That's comeback in the mid to late 00s).

Ed wrote this song with Steve Mac 3 years before Westlife even considered reuniting so its not that surprising it sounds similar to Castle On The Hill. To me this song is different for Westlife’s standards though.

Omg! This is so sweet, lovable and welcoming; I was shivering out joy watching all 4 of them in the video as it suddenly reminded me of their golden days. I can’t wait for the album :) ... i still wished if Brian would have came back this time around as well, I dearly miss his vocals and his goofy/fun personality from the early WL days.

I've played this more than 10 times already and it gets better and better at each listen. Glad they went for an uptempo for the debut single though, it gives the whole comeback a breath of fresh air.

Btw Mark totally shines in this one, thanks to his outstanding performance he gave the chorus a fantastic energy like no other! Gosh, I even cried a bit after watching the video... It brought me back so many great memories :)

What a stage presence! Just saw the live performance and all four this beyond amazing! Loved the energy and the good spirits; lol i felt butterflies flying in my belly :))) Mark really took the song to the next level.
Btw it seems the albim is coming towards the end 2019, it seems to be far away we at least we get to see them for many live performances and a couple of singles before the album drops :) it seems the scheduling for the new album is similar to BSB's new album plan.

Nice song. Different but in a good way. Not the soppy lead ballad.

I'm surprised at how much i like this. I did like a couple of their big hits but most of them washed over me completely. It's kinda refreshing that Westlife have returned with an anthemic uptempo track. The charts really do with more music like this.

It was a good performance on Norton. It shows how much they are enjoying this and how happy they are to be together again. The song was #144 on Spotify yeaterday and they are at #75 which is a nice leap, it obviously helped plus the fact that it is featured on the New Music Friday playlist.

Official Singles/Albums Chart Update Top 100
Source: OCC
Missing Data: Amazon HD, Amazon Music, Spotify, YouTube (all for Sunday), Apple Music (for Saturday and Sunday)

Top 100 Singles

1 Ava Max - Sweet But Psycho (22.5k)
2 Mark Ronson feat. Miley Cyrus - Nothing Breaks Like a Heart (13.4k)
3 Sam Smith & Normani - Dancing with a Stranger (12.3k) *
4 Post Malone & Swae Lee - Sunflower (11.5k)
5 Ariana Grande - thank u, next (11.3k)

6-10
7 Westlife - Hello My Love *

This is actually fine. Westlife will probably never ever have a no. 1 single in the UK, I never even hoped this would happen for one second. The charts have changed so much since they disbanded, streaming is the key and we all know Westlife fans are traditional so of course that is simply not enough. If they had a few more prominent TV appearances like Norton show, maybe things would have been a little different (still probably not no.1 though) but like this, with only few radio shows in between and no spot on Radio 1 playlist, this is expected. I just hope they manage to stay in the Top 10 by Friday.

To be fair, even a top 40 Westlife hit in 2019 is a success. Surprised it’s held up so well on iTunes!
