Just came back from a walk listening to this album. It hasn't aged a day.

Two years later... WOW

I still remember when this dropped when I was mourning Prince, didn't want to listen to any of his music at that time... THEN Lemonade dropped & I loved it instantly.... HOLD UP & ALL NIGHT were my absolute favorites instantly & the latter is up there with my fav all time songs... All the songs (except that 6 INCHES crap) are top notch

I was travelling across Namibia when this dropped and I remember watching the shitty pinterest livestreams in the middle of the night with crappy wifi when the movie premiered
Happy anniversary 8-)

I remember watching the visual and thinking she was really gonna divorce Jay!

This album is fantastic, though, and it's still mind-boggling that Beyoncé is releasing landmark albums so far into her career. She'd still be considered a legend if she slowed down, but she keeps getting better somehow.

Considering its only on Tidal, have you heard the album before?

Yes, I downloaded it illegally the day it was released. Didn’t think it was worth the 14€ for an iTunes download or close to 20€ for the CD at the time, but Amazon has it for 7€ now.

The cd is still damn expensive here and they still haven't released explicit version on iTunes. King Bee isn't getting my coins

Just a random thought, Childish Gambino's "This Is America" is getting more and more popular and surprisingly it's actually getting attention too in some non-English speaking countries, including in mine which is insane considering the song doesn't exactly sound like what our radio would play nowadays & I didn't think our people would care so much about a song that talks about police brutality, racism & gun violence, centered in America. Now imagine if Bey released "Formation" on YouTube, radio & all streaming services properly during the same time, it could've gotten much bigger attention. I don't really care about chart peaks, but it's just a pity that not many people outside the States know "Formation" (and LEMONADE in general) despite how great the song/album, the video & the message is.

^ Exactly, it’s not the fact that she doesn’t care about chart peaks that bothers me it’s her purposeful and blatant self-sabotage that really aggravates me. Like why can’t she just treat her single releases properly and let them do their job? She doesn't have to promote them just give them a dam chance instead of hindering them.

Wasn't it clear she did all that to enhance Tidal (which never really took off after all these years anyways)

It's sad that she is the only one who sacrificed a release for TIDALtanic, while even hubby did a wider release for his album
