If Letoya Luckett had a great follow-up to Torn, she would have dominated.

I miss good ol' days when those type of songs ruled the airwaves. No one makes them anymore :(

The Queen of R&B is truly Ruth Brown... no offense, but Etta James truly swagger jacked Ruth

Ruth>>> Aretha, Mary J, Gladys, Janet, Chaka, Anita, Patti etc...

Quoted for the truth and before somebody comes here and say the nowadays 'experimental' R&B with lacks of melodies is better and MORE REAL and that our taste is too cheap & mainstream.

Y'all why did no one tell me about this jam?

It's very 2008's Ne-Yo/Chris Brown/Mario-esque. I dig it! If only his voice was a bit stronger, but it's still good.

So I was trying to expand my playlist and decided to check out more and more R&B songs on Spotify but why are most of them always the same moody, sad type of ballads/midtempos? Where are the bops? Is depressed-R&B a thing nowadays?

Oh, those people are indeed so annoying. The general public anticipation and hype in appreciating R&B eventually died partly because of those critics who are too keen in drawing the line between contemporary music and so-called real and authentic R&B.

Ciara's "Next To You" should have been a #1 single...
