I added forgiven to the track list myself looool (Forgiven is better than my heart in my opinion).

Long as I live is currently two weeks no.1 on US Adult R&B Songs, number 18 on the R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart and back to number 129 on the HOT R&B songs 9Original peak for the latter is 15).

I wonder if music artists are paid for each time their song play on the radio???? I read the song writers and producers do as publishers but do the actual artist get paid...hmmm

As of the 23/06/2018 in the US, long as I live ranks as follows:

US R&B Songs

Number 17 (Originally peaked at 15)

Adult R&B Songs

Number 1 (3 weeks running)

US R&B/Hip Hop Airplay

Number 15 (New peak)

The way I see it, I think it's fair to say long as I live has out peaked 'hurt you' as both songs have the same peaks on the charts above except, 'Long as I live' is currently 15 (still charting) on R&B/Hip Hop airplay where 'Hurt You' peaked at number 16. Only other difference is 'Hurt you' reigned on adult r&b songs for 7 weeks where long as I live is still reigning but with stiff competition behind such as Ne-yo 'good man', Tamia 'leave it smoking' and Ella 'boo'd up'.

I feel as if because long as I live is still charting her record label is not releasing anything. I don't know at this point.

I don’t know how I feel. I feel her label has move on from this project. But I hope you are right and I am wrong.
Glad to hear it’s still climbing the charts. This is a great summer RnB Jam.

As much as I really do enjoy the album, the moment she revealed the album is going to be just an 8-track one, I knew it's going to be DOA upon release.

It all started pretty well. Deadwood was quite well received. Even the album cover did capture some attention. The era was shaping up to be a great one for her. She was really into the project. Last time we've seen her being that committed to promoting an album was probably during the The Heat album. But people aren't here for a half-baked project from a veteran act.

LAIL is easily her best song in years, and it's sad how very little it's done to sell the album.

When "Coping" remixes were released, that's when I was not as invested and I kinda figured it would flop.

"Deadwood" was a bad lead single choice. They should have chosen "Long as I Live" as the lead as it was so reminiscent of the 1990s, something similar to what Janet did with "No Sleeep" which sounded like it her old jams.

She should have enlisted a rapper (definitely not Birdman) on a remix. I don't know why they can't figure out things like this. :-? :-?

When this happens to all artists, sometimes I think that they have heart surgeons and lawyers making A&R, marketing behalf of artists new eras. Because what I say logical and makes sense yet we are just normal fans out there.

Deadwood is a slow burner song - not the best choice for a lead single. Long As I Live should've been released instead.

Confusing release of Coping remixes

Album having only 8 tracks, while being expensive.

No promo whatsoever.

Are we really better A&Rs than actual A&Rs?

FOr me, Deadwood was a bad lead single moment. Then there was the release of Coping remixes months before the original was released in the album. It confused people. That too, Deadwood remixes got no official release or video to promote. Then there was the 8 song album which felt half hearted after such a long wait. But then she released a damn good single and video but the many negative things overshadowed the one positive thing.

And yes, we are better

Toni should have performed a new song at the Soul Train Awards. It's crazy how she just sang her old songs there.

It's not that bad, but it's too sad and sappy, it does not have the other moods that show variety.

I just don’t like the sound quaility of her vocals. What kinda booth was she using or is it the edit?

It's such a half-arsed project. Very disappointing from Toni.

The tracks were ace. The album was just too short.

Agreed. A skid mark in her discography smh. I don’t think I’ve played it since the release week.

A short album doesn't mean that it was half-arsed. She just didn't deliver the right kind of songs her fans expected from her.

Short albums that I loved:
Toni - Libra
Monica - Makings Of Me
Bruno - 24K Magic
Toni - Sex and Cigarettes
Beyoncé - B’Day

In fact Toni and Monica taught be the true value of short albums but quality songs.
This album is short has I feel all the songs are ace.

Libra was short but it had variety. Sex & Ciggies is full of dull ballads, IMO.

That’s true actually. Libra has jams, mid tempo and ballads. This is rather one sided.

And Libra was actually good too.

I wanted more deep R&B stuff. I hate when she does stuff like Deadwood.

I really like the single 'Deadwood' but not the rest of the album. Shame.

I would add Kelis Fleshtone to that list too for me personally. I LOVE that album. Short albums can be awesome. All killer no filler.
Most listened to albums at the moment:
Christina Aguilera - Liberation
Lily Allen - No Shame
Kali Uchis - Isolation
