I mean, it's not our fault that we couldn't find the album on Spotify...

Anyway, that GRAMMY's pic of B, Blue & Jay should've been the single artwork for "Family Feud". :lol:

Kehlani SweetSexySavage
* Points: 109
* Year-End Chart History:
You Should Be Here (#21, 2015)

* Voted by: Benjamin, Gravity, LongingHeart, cristy, bluecherry, WakeUpMusic, ThaInfo1, ludichris, BeeBoy, Unbreakable34, croatiaxtina, Swingin, minime, urbanmusik
* Genre(s): R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop
* Highlights: "CRZY”, "Distraction”, "Keep On”, "In My Feelings”

SweetSexySavage is the debut studio album by American singer and songwriter Kehlani. The album was released on January 27, 2017 by Atlantic Records. Kehlani started work on the album shortly after the release of her mixtape You Should Be Here, with work proceeding into 2016. Kehlani described the album as having three elements; Sweet, Sexy and Savage, which are intended to be reflected in the album's lyrical content and production.

Kehlani was the lead writer on all tracks aside from "Intro", which was written by Reyna Biddy. Production on the project was handled by Pop & Oak, Jahaan Sweet, Charlie Heat, among others, who worked to incorporate a variety of different sounds on the album.

The album received mainly positive reviews from critics, generating a Metacritic score of 76, which ranks as Kehlani's second-highest score after her mixtape You Should Be Here from 2015. It debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200, moving 58,000 album-equivalent units in its first tracking week. The record was promoted with two official singles, "Crzy" and "Distraction", which both peaked at number eighty-five on the Billboard Hot 100. To further promote the album, Kehlani embarked on the SweetSexySavage Tour.

WakeUpMusic wrote:Some songs on this are just brilliant! I didn't know any of her music before this album and I'm just in love with her vocals
ThaInfo1 wrote:Love this album. Still my favorite album to be released this year so far. Some songs could've been cut due to repetitive-ness but this album is full of R&B bops.
urbanmusik wrote:Listened to this album a handful of times over the week and really enjoyed it. The song structures and production can get a bit samey, while some of the lyrics are a mess (the chorus of Too Much :oops: ), but Kehlani sounds so good and the melodies are so strong that I can forgive her for the album's shortcomings.

Chile you tripping lol

This was my number 3 album of last year. It has a couple of filler, but I enjoyed the fresh R&B sounding bops and jams she delivered.

Meh...most of these "bops" sound half-baked to me. I like Keep On, Distraction and I Wanna Be though.

To be honest haven't played most of these albums but I do have some clear faves.

Trip by Jhené was good but not a patch on her previous work. Some amazing songs in there though

Kelela Take Me Apart
* Points: 120
* Year-End Chart History:
TBA

* Voted by: Gravity, pscalp, LongingHeart, Loose, cristy, bluecherry, Loveguru, ThaInfo1, croatiaxtina, urbanmusik
* Genre(s): Electro-R&B, Alternative R&B, Soul
* Highlights: "Frontline”, "LMK”, "Waitin”, "Onanon”

Take Me Apart is the debut studio album by American singer and songwriter Kelela. It was released on October 6, 2017, through Warp Records

Kelela worked on Take Me Apart for four years, alongside Arca and Jam City, whom she had previously worked with on Hallucinogen and Cut 4 Me respectively. She stated that they "anchored" the album and produced the bulk of it. On February 18, 2016, Kelela featured on a short film by Dazed named "Interlude", which contained new material that would later turn out to be snippets of tracks included in the album. In a press release, Kelela explained that the album expresses "an honest vision of how we navigate dissolving ties with each other and yet remain sanguine for the next chance at love," continuing: "despite it being a personal record, the politics of my identity informs how it sounds and how I choose to articulate my vulnerability and strength. I am a black woman, a second-generation Ethiopian-American, who grew up in the 'burbs listening to R&B, jazz and Björk. All of it comes out in one way or another."
