If she removed Ready for Whatever, I’m burning my new fancard.....

Well since T.K.O. was announced as a slow jam/midtempo record, the original version of Ready... might be a bit too ‚streets‘ to fit the concept.

Apart from that, didn’t she also promised previews with the album pre-order?

I hope not. I was hoping the 2.0 version is the first version but with something added.

The first RFW is a jam

Unfortunately there aren't any previews for the new songs. And You Got Me + Damage are the only songs that download with the pre order :(

Edit: It's just iTunes that's not showing the previews. Google Play has them. Ready 2.0 is more or less the same as the first one and Part III is pretty much Part II. Maybe she added more beats or something I didn't listen to the previews properly yet.

I really like Knock You Out and also Damage. This is the first time I have anticipated a Mya album for literally 15 years.

WTF @ the cover though?! She looks beautiful but she could have tried at least SOMETHING different from her last album cover? Like a different coloured bikini, or background? Or sitting in a different position???

ive pre-ordered this!! I love Damage.

I'm just so impressed by her hustle, to think she does all of this independently, she's always performing, doing interviews, promoting and loving what ive heard so far from the album!!

hope the new album does well for her.

EDITORS’ NOTES

On her eighth studio album, Mýa asks the musical question, “Tell me, are you down for me?” The answer is a resounding yes. T.K.O. (The Knock Out) shows the R&B goddess pulling out all the tricks from her two decades in the mix. Mýa wraps her gorgeous voice around between-the-sheets funk, using playful metaphors (“Knock You Out”) and fun '90s R&B album devices like whispered intros and seductive voicemail messages. “Hey, beautiful. It’s me, returning your call.” Remember those?

Arguably her best album since Moodring, imho. In terms of production it triumph all of her indie releases. It definitely her best indie release next to Smoove Jones & K.I.S.S. Each songs flows nicely into the next. Definitely can play without skipping a track, imo.

Ratings
The Fall 10/10
Open 8/10
Simple Things 8/10
Down 9/10 (could've been longer tbh)
Ready 4 Whatever 8/10 (the original is better, the added adlibs were unnecessary.)
Damage 10/10
Ready, Part III 8/10 (It's good, she enhanced the track a bit more)
You Got Me 8/10 (many will consider this a filler but I love it)
TKO Interlude (short, sweet and straight to the point)
Knock You Out 10/10
With You 9/10 (A better Love Me Some You)
If Tomorrow Never Comes 10/10 (Great closer, she goes off vocally)
