If you don't have anything smart to say, why releasing anything anymore? She never had success in solo career, and now especially she won't have any success… which is sad, cuz I was always rooting for Kelly. She can stay as judge on talent shows tho, and appear as guest on Beyonce's DC medley's.
Or you can just accept this song isn't for you and move on? Nobody should be forced to stop doing what they love, just because someone doesn't like the direction someone is going.
Pretty much what my sis said :P
If you don’t like something, it’s fine. Just move along.
Yeah, that was overdramatic. Especially the "If you don't have anything smart to say, why releasing anything more?" If we go by THAT measure you can say goodbye to at least 75% of the music industry.

Why does Kelly keep releasing music? Because she can.

With the cover and single name, I wonder if she was paying homage to Janet.

So are gonna pretend that "Dilemma", "Stole", "Work", "When Love Takes Over" and "Motivation" didn't exist now?

It’s not my cup of tea. I feel like we’ve heard such tracks a zillion times before whereas Dirty Laundry was truly something refreshing.
Baby, hell no, that's not the way it goes. It's all about me tonight.

I'll reply you through excel
All that sucess was before 2010's. And she was mostly featured artist.
But Motivation still slays!!!!

She was the lead in all but Dilemma and WLTO.
Motivation charted between 2011-2012.

She also had a hit with What A Feeling by Alex Gaudino (#6 UK) in 2011. And Kisses Down Low was a minor urban hit (#22 R&B song of 2013).

Since 2010 she only had 2 more albums.... It's hardly as if she's been flopping with everything. She's never been huge but she has been a constant present in the urban scene up until her latest album.

Plus she's always really been on the forefront of the sound. She helped bring Dance to the mainstream in 2008-2009, and moved on to urban while everyone else was still stuck in dance-pop.

She was never a huge force but she had some cute hits. It's a damn shame Talk a Good Game didn't do better because it's her best album by miles.

I tried giving Kelly a few more spins but it's still meh. It was done many times before her and it sounds so forced.

I hope it's a buzz single a la ICE

I feel like this isn't a single (or she isn't going about releasing music the tradition "first and second single, promo, album, tour" way) hince the messy release.

Although It bangs, I can't imagine it being one tbh.

So am I the only one who is able to still play from Spotify since its initial release date just because I have already playlisted it? Oh wow, I feel so... special. When it's officially released on Spotify and y'all see the song has 100 play counts, 50% of those has to be from me cause I've been playing this non-stop. This song slaps so hard!

The song isn't charting anywhere and she isn't doing any promo. I wonder if we'd get a video.

It must be just a buzz release. The song is good to get people talking about her again but that's all. It's not what I listen to her for, I want true R&B. I like Red Wine, Motivation, #1 and Keep It Between Us etc. These kind of songs are what I want to hear and of course something uptempo like the unreleased The Sound aka On & On.

So confirmed on IG that she's indie. So yeah, don't expect so much promo & chart success with her upcoming releases.

Her last few releases smashed personally but were a goner on the charts.

I'm not sure she's creative enough to pull off going indie, and she won't have the resources she had through labels.

Considering how badly Talk a Good Game was promoted, she's better off indie.

I want a full-length album with some cute midtempos, please.
