Sam Smith & Normani - Dancing With A Stranger

See you guys may not be a Sam Smith fan but his voice is so rich ... so rich that it overpowers Normani.

She adds sexiness to the track but the more she sings the more you want Sam to come back and add oomph.

This is such a problematic collabo.

All that aside this is a bop and a good song. (their voices just do not marry well but their individual parts are beautiful particularly Sam's)

I personally would had Normani lead with the first verse because Sam is just too overpowering as the song progresses.

I love this track don't get me wrong but just worry for my girl

On the first spin, this sounds like a keeper.

This feels like a mellow sequel to Promises. Why is it so short though? Where is the bridge? I definitely like it.

This is nice. They both sound great on this and I love both of their tones, but I’m not sure how well their voices gel together at the end

This is actually really good, I like it.

Wasn’t sure how they would both sound together but I actually think it works.

Such a mis-match in terms of voices. Sam's voice is huge and, without being rude, Normani's couldn't be more basic. I actually really like Normani but obviously not in Sam's league vocally...so it was definitely noticeable when listening. It'd be even more interesting/noticeable if they perform it completely live together... I'd be interested so see that!

But it's a cool song nonetheless.

I heard that new song with Sam Smith (Dancing with A stranger) and my first thoughts are...
1. This sounds like a Drake song
2. It's very mellow....I was still waiting for the hook after the first hook then I noticed "that was it"
3. Love Lies was mellow too but Normani elevated the performances so I'm sure she can do the same here.
4. I'm hoping this gives her (and Sam) a massive hit in the UK

Boring but it seems like Sam is better on featurings than his own songs.

I adore this song. I think their voices work so well together. She sounds gorgeous and I love when Sam sings more subtly to mirror her towards the end. I completely relate to the lyrics at the moment too.

Hmmm... it's going to take a couple listens.

And another thing, why songs are now two minutes long?

I’ve had this on repeat for most of the day and I am still not sick of it. A quality track and most definitely my favourite Sam Smith song and probably my favourite Normani song so far.

Love the 80’s undertones in the production too.

I too relate to the lyrics but yeah I kind of like her tone but her voice is just not really that interesting to listen to.
