What are two singles which carried out the rank-up together over the long period of time most?

I know the following example.
(From February 5, 1983 to April 9)

21-18-8-5-4-4-3-2-2-2"Do You Really Want To Hurt To Me"-Culture Club
22-19-9-6-5-5-4-3-3-3"Hungry Like The Wolf"-Duran Duran
I wracked my brain, but couldn't come up with an algorithm or method, other than by hand, to quickly search the database for such occurences.

What is the album with which the highest position was less than # 190 with the album, and had stopped at TOP200 for a long time?
If I understand correctly, you want to know which album hovered the longest in the bottom region (#191-200) of the Billboard album chart and never reached higer.

Here are the first ten:

Code: Select all
(peak, weeks on chart, title, name, year)

191 9 Stallion - Stallion (1977)
192 9 Speak And Spell - Depeche Mode (1981)
191 9 Pinafore Days - Stackridge (1974)
195 8 Where's The Money - Dan Hicks And His Hot Licks (1971)
193 7 Alive Again - Naturally - The Lettermen (1973)
192 7 Enoch Light & The Brass Menagerie - Enoch Light And The Light Brigade (1969)
194 7 Happy Together Again - The Turtles (1974)
191 7 Clear Spot - Captain Beefheart (1972)
192 6 Feelings - The Lettermen (1971)
196 6 Good Things In Life - Tony Bennett (1972)

If ALL albums are included, not only the ones which peaked at #191 or lower, the list looks like this:

Code: Select all
(peak, weeks on chart, title, name, first year #191-200)

191 95 Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd (1976)
191 75 Tapestry - Carole King (1976)
191 53 Wings Over America - Paul McCartney and Wings (1978)
191 51 Endless Summer - The Beach Boys (1975)
191 33 Band On The Run - Paul McCartney and Wings (1975)
191 27 Behind Closed Doors - Charlie Rich (1975)
191 20 Double Vision - Foreigner (1981)
191 19 The Wall - Pink Floyd (1983)
191 19 Back In Black - AC/DC (2004)
191 19 The River - Bruce Springsteen (1981)

Do you have a webpage or a website that I could dowload the database you use for your chartruns.
You're looking at it! This is the only place on the web where I post my chart info.

I'm not and will not offer my chart database for download or even for sale. I will only exchange my data for other interesting chart material.
From what I can tell, redsox is not after the data itself. He's rather after the database that it's all contained in.

That's rather naive, imo. What's a database without data?

Believe me, this question has been raised numerous times and people always want the data, not only the container.

The main thing I wanted to get Hanboo was the US album and single chart runs. I already have the UK singles chart info.

Hanboo, a simple request:
do you know the peak position for Stones' Highwire on the Airplay chart on March 16th, 1991?
His only week ever on that chart...
Thanks in advance.

First, thanks for Genesis (work in progress! :)) and all the 70's "frozen charts" data. Very interesting! I am still ashamed for incorrectly counting "Bridge Over Troubled Water" weeks.

Another request. I have looked at Paul Simon's runs posted by you at Dotmusic Chart Forum last year. Yes, I do have them saved on my hard disk. :D
There are few Paul Simon's 70's albums with less weeks-on-chart than in the books. Another stuff to verify. To do so, I need the said runs. Could you please post them here (UK/US, Albums/Singles). Thanks!

BTW How many weeks on UK charts(in your database) has Phantom Of The Opera Stage Cast (rel. 1987)? Old Dotmusic runs seems to have less than in the books. Just curious...

To my surprise I just noticed I have never saved (back from Dotmusic Chart Forum) Eurythmics' runs. :( And now, I badly need them to make some parts of the 80s/90s charts complete.
So, if you find some time (hopefully soon  ) to post EURYTHMICS runs here, I am sure I won't be the only one being happy to see them... Thanks! :)

Han,It is a question.

What is the album which stayed at a certain rank for a long time in the position below #10?

"Wings Over America" was staying at #200 for 22 weeks.

The London Cast album stayed on the chart for 102 weeks, it entered the chart on 21-Feb-1987 and peaked at #1.

The Broadway album had a run of 38 weeks, it entered the chart on 4-Feb-1989 and peaked at #45.

BTW On the Billboard charts, the latter album stayed on the charts for 255 weeks, while the "Highlights" version even managed 331 weeks!
