BONUS TRACK - CHRISTINA AGUILERA's TOP ALBUMS
6. Mi Reflejo
(2000) - My rating: 64.5
A highly publicized album here in Argentina. I have to admit her pronunciation was excellent. She has latin roots (her father was from Ecuador), but also has Mariah Carey (father from Venezuela) and the results in spanish couldn't be more different!
Back to Christina, this album was just a commercial move, and I hated it. She was everywhere saying how much she wanted to have artistic credibilitiy, that she wanted to make her own music with songs similar to Mariah Carey's Vanishing (she said this in a local newspaper interview) that when she released this set of nonsense made me despise it.
(2010) - My rating: 67.8
After Back To Basics, a succesfull and original record, she made this Lady GaGa's leftovers set of songs. There are some good momentos, but all in all is a very forgetable effort.
4. Christina Aguilera
(1999) - My rating: 71.3
A good first album. Most songs have aged a little, and you can see that they are not her own songs, but it was a way to introduce herself and then to have the chance to make a more personal record as Stripped.
3. Back To Basics
(2006) - My rating: 73.0
I think this album should have been higher, but as I mentioned before, I find it too long. There are many songs that are just ok so they average down the whole effort. Anyway, it was a very itneresting move, with some pop gems here.
(2002) - My rating: 74.1
Very good record. Again she makes the mistake of adding too many songs, most of them just fillers. But I think this was a really strong record which should have been introduced by any other song instead of Dirrty (which I like but it was just a little too much, specially because of the video)
(2012) - My rating: 74.4
I am glad to see that her last effort is her best for me, because I really think she is someone that will blow my mind someday with a strong and personal set.
If I also take into consideration that after this she released Say Something, I truly believe that her next album will be superb. How I Met... Christina Aguilera
Genie In A Bottle was everywhere. I liked it, and from all the batch of new popular artists back then I thought she was the most promising one, with a more R&B oriented sound that I was more interested in. I don't consider myself a Chrisitna Aguilera fan, in fact sometimes I can be very tough on her, but that's because i am always waiting for her to do what I have been expecting since that day that I listened Genie In A Bottle for the first time.
