i dont understand how people can get mad at pokemon when its a voting game.
its clearly extremely popular on ukmix despite u not liking it
im not a fan but i know its popularity

congrats to ocarina of time. my mum brought me this xmas 98 (?) but i found it hidden a month earlier in her bedroom and secretly played it and completed it before xmas day. i had to act so surprised and excited.
its a groundbreaking game and some people here dont seem to realise how influential the series is and what it did for nintendo and the video game industry.

super mario world was my #1. the greatest game of all time imo.

This.

CrazyCrazy was obviously a good host, but i find it childish to put no pics on the Pokémon games only because one dislikes it.

Shame i had no time to put a list together, otherwise Pokémon would have been #1...

I don't have a problem with how popular pokemon is, it's just voting for all of the different versions is a little overkill imo, it's like what stevvy does in the CZB chart voting for all Mariah remixes to get it to #1!

okay then, well it just really looked like that going by some comments but okay there's worse anyway

As for the voting stuff, every generation is different, even some games within a generation are completely different. It's like Mario, Mario Cart is one generation, Super Mario another one etc.

Fair enough, if I do this again, the rule will be that you can either vote for any one (so no grouping by generation) or that you can only vote for one per generation if you wish to vote for one in each that is. I think because of the sheer amount and their obvious popularity by having these rules for them gives other games a chance within a more level playing field.

It's like having about 7 editions of Final Fantasy 10 or something I'd apply the same rules for them, surely you can understand what I'm trying to say?

What about Sonic and Mario and games like this? They had just as many entries in the chart as Pokemon did! I'm sure they're not THAT different to each other either if you think Pokemon is basically the same. :-?

I'm just really sick of all the Pokemon bashing, it's a countdown with voting, of course people are gonna vote for their faves (that's the whole point LOL) and their faves are Pokemon!
I've now met Dean Ambrose FOUR TIMES - 28/03/15, 02/04/16, 20/08/16 & 01/04/17!!

I think Crazy gave a good explanation of what he meant Shorty.

And again, not sure about other games. But basically. Each generation of Pokemon has a few games. Like Generation 3 does have Saphire, Ruby and Smaragd. The issue with these titles is that all of them are basically the same games with very slight changes. I agree that each generation represent new changes. Nintendo usually kicks of a new generation with two editions. The issue here is that both games are basically so identical that the changes are minor. But if a generation has a third game (e.g. Smaragd and Platinum), changes are really small too. And what Crazy wanted to say is that we should vote for just one title of that generation which is a fine compromise.

The differences between pokemons are minor imo whereas with platformers such as Mario/Sonic that isn't the case at all, it's only natural to have sequels that are continuations to the story with completely different levels, bosses, characters etc etc. Pokemons are just expansions/versions of others in the generation, different thing imo.

I want to drop this discussion now, I just want it to be a fairer playing field and I will put my rule in place next time around.

Thank you truthless for backing me up with this. :P

I haven't. Heard a lot of good things about it. Is it really good? I downloaded it a few years ago and accidentally deleted it. Didn't bother to download again.

looking back at the countdown, im surprised to see Final Fantasy VII only made it to #27. I thought it was the most popular out of all FF franchise. It got a movie, a spin-off (Dirge of Cerberus) and the scene where Tifa fighting in the church in FFVII movie even got copied by this Korean singer for her music video and got sued for copyright infringement

^ it also got a flawless prequel 'Crisis Core'

Tifa's battle in Advent Children is amazing, specially when she beats the guy and then her phone rings and it's the victory music from the game, one of the best fan service moments ever
I'm the terminator, bitch talk slick, I'm a have to terminate her ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ooop .

Great number 1. It's not my favourite Zelda game, but I get the reason why it was such a success.

The Last Of Us deserves it's spot. One of the best games I ever played.

Overall good Job Crazy!

I'll probably put a bit more thought into my votes next year

I would especially cause I don't have to do much, I just have to edit my old list then

Always had a problem with Pokemon games though, it was hard for me to rank them cause there are so many

CC - You going to look at doing another video game countdown for this year? (Or has it been done and I just can't view it). :)
