hi guys, i have a question, i don't have wifi at home :( lol ... i only have 3g however i do have one of those 3G MODEMS that you connect to a laptop via usb port... my question is, is there any streaming platform (spotify, beats, google play, deezer) that allows me to download the music from the computer into the phone for OFFLINE PLAYING? - I do know that for me to get that i have to pay the subscription. I'm not pro-streaming however I can't seem to catch a break, it seems like streaming is becoming the way to go. Most new laptops lack a cd unit, the new car radios don't have cd anymore and so and so I was just "shopping around". with me only using 3g on my phone, i tested spotify and google play music and it racked up to 200 mb within a few 45 minutes... i did select the "low quality" but still, it's a lot to be honest specially when my phone doesn't have UNLIMITED DATA. just curious, thanks.

Yes, you can choose songs in Spotify to be available "offline". They are downloaded to your device once and then available offline.

Can you do that pluging your phone to USB and then "sync" it that way or do I have to download it with my phone only?

My phone carrier has its own streaming service (MEO Music) and it's free to all their clients and it doesn't use any data 8-)

It looks like this

And you can download (like iTunes) 10 songs per month 8-)

Let me rephrase that, I can use all the data I want with the service that I won't pay more for that.

I use Spotify. I love my playlists for the 80s and the 90s :)

I absolutely LOVE the new music playlist on Spotify - so much great music that I'd never otherwise hear about.

I'm currently listening to a song called 2Shy by an artist called Shura, and I love it!

Starbucks signed a contract with Spotify (like they had with iTunes) and they will give their 150.000 employees a free Spotify Premium account, also they will allow customers stream their favorite songs in the store. Customers will also be able to access some playlists via the Starbucks Mobile App.

Looks like Spotify is making big movements, first Uber, then PlayStation 4 and now Starbucks... Better Apple has something big for their streaming service next month.

I currently only have the free version of Spotify but really tempted to pay the monthly subscription for full access, just wanted opinions on if it's worth it etc?

Isn't there a way to see how many times you've played a song? Like on iTunes?

It's great isn't it? I love exploring new stuff on there and experimenting with genres that I wouldn't necessarily buy a CD of.

Downloading and paying a tenner per month for this is truly the best money in terms of music I've ever spent.

And I used to detest the notion of streaming rivaling recorded music sales.

Only if you choose a song no one else is listening to, and play it at least 1,000 times ;). But I guess most people use the Last.FM scrobble feature to indirectly count plays.

Yup, I've bought CDs because I've found stuff I like on Spotify. It's not all doom and gloom as the anti-streamers would have you believe!
