I've been debating the decision whether to make a year end chart or not and I finally decided to jump on the bandwagon just like everybody else.
I will start counting down my favorite songs of the year starting tomorrow
There might be some suprise at the top so hang on for the ride everybody

Merry Xmas btw

Let's get started.

I know I said I was gonna do top 25, but then I thought it's christmas time and it's a time for giving and sharing, so I thought I'd share with you the songs that missed out on the top 25

40 Nickelback – Photograph
39 DHT Featuring Edmée - Listen to Your Heart
38 Backstreet Boys - Incomplete
37 Dancing DJs V Roxette - Fading Like A Flower
36 Uniting Nations – Out of Touch
35 Tatu - All About Us
34 Ashanti – Only
33 Franz – Ferdinand – Do You Want To?
32 Jennifer Lopez – Get Right
31 Shakira – Don’t Bother
30 Coldplay – Talk
29 Mylo VS Miami Sound Machine
28 Alanis Morissette – Crazy
27 Robbie Williams – Advertising Space
26 Michael Buble - Home

And let's keep going with the top 25

25. Rich Girl - Gwen Stefani

Image

If I was rich girl (na, na...)
See, I'd have all the money in
the world, if I was a wealthy girl

Rich Girl is essentially a remix of the “Fiddler on the Roof” musical classic “If I Were a Rich Man.” It’s a funky, catchy pop song, produced by Dr. Dre and it certainly didn't disappoint.

24. All Because of You - U2

Image

I was born a child of grace
Nothing else about the place
Everything was ugly but your beautiful face
And it left me no illusion

why is this song in my top 25? It's U2 enough said. I'm a huge fan and you'll see another entry from them later on the countdown.

23. Holiday - Green Day

Image

I beg to dream and differ
from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the
rest of our lives on holiday

The title track and Boulevard Of Broken Dreams had already been massive hits, and there was no reason to suspect that Holiday wouldn't be as successful. Stating their political views, Billie Joe Armstrong stated this song is not an anti American song, this song is anti-WAR. And you gotta praise him for that.

So, woo for Michael Buble, Nickelback, TATU, DHT, Shakira, JLo, Mylo, Alanis and Coldplay!

Thanks for the comments :)

22. Coldplay - Fix You

Image

And the tears come streaming
down your face When you lose something
you can't replace When you love someone
but it goes to waste Could it be worse?

It's about losing something important to you and it turned out this second single from X&Y was apparently written for Gwyneth Paltrow following the death of her father. This one charted higher than Talk, I guess that one is still growing on me.

21. Bon Jovi - Have A Nice Day

Image

Ohhh, if there’s one thing I hang onto,
It gets me through the night.
I aint gonna do what I don’t want to,
Im gonna live my life. Shining like a diamond,
rolling with the dice, Standing on the ledge,
show the wind how to fly. When the world gets in my face,
I say, Have A Nice Day. Have A Nice Day

The lead single from their latest album is really a throwback to It's My Life. It's a feel good song from the guys, but not as good as It's My Life IMO. But it still is a decent song that I've enjoyed listening to this past year.

20. Juanes - La Camisa Negra

Image

Tengo la camisa negra
Porque negra tengo el alma
Yo por ti perdí la calma
Y casi pierdo hasta mi cama
Cama cama caman baby
Te digo con disimulo

I was introduced to his music about 3 yrs ago by a friend of mine. Since then I've become a fan of his music and this song is one of his best. For that reason it lands at no.20

19. Depeche Mode - Precious

Image

Things get damaged
Things get broken
I thought we managed
But words left unspoken
Left us so brittle
There was so little left to give
Angels with silver wings
Shouldn't know suffering
I wish I could take the pain for you

This lead single is quintessential Depeche Mode, with its digital disco pulse and dark, orchestral synths.

18. Black Eyed Peas - Don’t Phunk With My Heart

Image

No, no, no, no, don't phunk with my heart
I wonder if I take you home
Would you still be in love, baby (in love, baby)
I wonder if I take you home
Would you still be in love, baby (in love, baby)

The lead single (are you starting to notice a pattern here? ) is a very upbeat and remarkable dance song. It is very catchy and just a good song to listen to and dance to.
