The debut of Connor's track is quite surprising! It's so strange that "Wie schön du bist" didn't enter your Top10 at all. - Loreen's drop ain't that said after all. The song has grown off me quite fast. I guess, I prefer her English tracks then.

Nice to see "Lazarus" & "Blackstar" by Bowie.

Hopefully, Coldplay's "Adventure of a Lifetime" manages to be on your charts for some other weeks!

It's a pity that Banks' song is flopping.
Glad you like "Something In The Way You Move"! Did you tried to check out her newest album? If you like that track, you could like a few more songs as well...

Well, "Wie schön du bist" never really clicked with me and only made its first appearance a few weeks ago, so i'm very late when it comes to her music. "Kommst Du mit ihr" is easily my favorite track on her album - do you like it too?
Loreen will drop even more this week... :(

Glad you like Bowie's entries. I need to get more into his discography...
And i guess i have to disappoint you when it comes to Coldplay... but Banks' new single is currently growing on me :D

week 04/2016 – 28 januar 2016 Anette Olzon vs. Grimes

Image
    Singles Top40
There aren’t as many new entries as in the last few weeks with ‚only’ five new songs in the Top40 this week, but four of them made the Top10 with the whole Top3 being full of new entries, so there is still a lot going on on the charts. The clear winner is former Nightwish frontwoman Anette Olzon. The swedish singer released two new singles at once, one in swedish called „Vintersjäl“ and a second one in english called „Cold Outside“. The former becomes her very first top hit as a solo artist ever (and fourth overall, including the three singles „Amaranth“, „The Islander“ and „Storytime“ which were released by Nightwish while she was the lead singer), while the latter one debuts at #2. Since all three singles from her solo debut album „Shine“ peaked at #2, she can call five Top2 peaking singles her own now. Closing the Top3 is as shortly mentioned another new entry. Canadian singer Grimes released „Kill V. Maim“ as the next single from her current album „Art Angels“. While the previous release „Flesh Without Blood“ is still staying inside the Top20 (13-16), the new single becomes her first Top3 hit.

As mentioned, there’s a fourth new entry in the Top10 and it’s the new single by Marina Kaye. After the three Top10 hits „Homeless“, „Sounds Like Heaven“ and „Dancing With The Devil“, „Freeze You Out“ was chosen as the next single of her debut album „Fearless“ and enters the charts at #6. The fifth and last new arrival on the charts this week is „Fine By Me“ by Chris Brown. The song is a single of his current album „Royalty“ which debuted on the album charts two weeks ago, and enters the singles charts at #28 this week.

Ellie Goulding’s former top hit „Something In The Way You Move“ is down 1-4, followed by her second entry „Army“ which slips 4-5. After the first month of the year, „Army“ is currently the most successful song of the year on my charts, to my own surprise. Rachel Platten’s „Stand By You“ drops 3-7 and EFF’s „Stimme“ is down 7-8. Otto Know’s „Dying For You“ already falls 2-9 after its debut a week ago, and Justin Bieber’s „Love Yourself“ rounds out the Top10 (9-10).

Selena Gomez seems to get a very huge hit with „Hands To Myself“, as it’s doing exceptionally well on Spotify and iTunes all around the world. Unfortunately, it leaves the Top10 on my charts after only four weeks, being the single with the least amount of weeks in the Top10 for her ever, including the tracks which were released as ‚Selena Gomez & The Scene’. Danish formation Lukas Graham is only one position below and gets lot of attention with their track „7 Years“, as the song soars 39-13 in its second week on the charts. X Ambassadors’ „Renegades“ (27-15) and Matt Simons’ „Catch & Release“ (36-23) are big climbers too. Between all these climbers, there’s Taylor Swift. Her „Out Of The Woods“ is down 12-14 this week, which is not really a spectacular move, but the song gets certified with Gold this week, being the third single of „1989“ to do so after „Blank Space“ and „Bad Blood“.

Lukas Graham’s „7 Years“ is the biggest climber while David Bowie’s „Lazarus“ (17-30) and Rachel Platten’s „Fight Song“ (22-35) are the biggest losers this week.

.
    Album Top20
After several weeks of losing the fight against other albums, Grimes finally makes it to the top with her latest album „Art Angels“. The album previously peaked at #2 three weeks ago and never left the Top5 in its seven-weeks-chartrun so far, plus it got certified with Gold just a week ago. Ellie Goulding remains at number two with „Delirium“, and it’s likely to see her on top again soon as she will visit Switzerland on her tour in a month and i’ll attend her concert. Rachel Platten’s former top album closes the Top3, as „Wildfire“ drops 1-3 after three consecutive weeks on top.

Anette Olzon just re-entered the charts very high a week ago, and climbs even further this week as „Shine“ increases 8-4 in its 76th week on the charts. It’s currently one of the most successful albums of all time on my charts. One of two new entries is behind the swedish singer, as fellow scandinavian artist Lukas Graham – they are from Denmark – debut at #5 with „Lukas Graham (Blue Album)“. Selena Gomez slips 5-6 with „Revival“, followed by David Bowie’s „Blackstar“ (3-7) and Adele’s „25“ (7-8). The second new entry comes from Matt Simons, who debuts at #9 with his debut record „Catch & Release“, while Sarah Connor’s „Muttersprache“ closes the Top10 (6-10).

After only one week, The Weeknd’s „Beauty Behind The Madness“ already leaves the upper half again (10-11). The Weeknd has another reason to celebrate though, as his album gets certified with Platinum this week, earning him his very first platinum certification ever. Jess Glynne also leaves that part of the charts as her debut „I Cry When I Laugh“ descends 9-12. Last but not least, Marina Kaye’s „Fearless“ returns to the charts at #13 due to her newest single release „Freeze You Out“

I liked "Fight Song", but I got tired of it pretty quickly. It was too "forced empowerment"-esque for me.

You are very active in the Ed Sheeran chart thread and stuff so that's why I assumed you're a fan :)

Checking out that Grimes song as I randomly discovered "Venus Fly" on Tumblr and immediately fell in love with it! I also liked "Flesh Without Blood" and it charted a few weeks, so I checked out the album but didn't really like the first songs so I never listened to it in full. ... So I have to say it's really nice! Is it the official new single? Wow at the album #1 :o Can you recommend other songs of the record? Thank you :D

Oh, I read somewhere that "Cheap Thrills" now REALLY is the next official single of Sia :D

Nice entry for Chris Brown. I charted the song some weeks ago.
Looks like I found my way home

Go Anette, slay that Grimes monster!

I just listened to "Vintersjäl" and "Cold Outside" and they both sounded good! The timing is a bit off though because all of the snow is gone here now this week :(. (So now only my fear of heights is stopping me from climbing up on the roof and fixing the TV antenna connection...) Have you had a song in Swedish at #1 on your chart before? Do you understand any of the lyrics when listening? (Just curious, it's not necessary of course because it's easy to just look up the lyrics in Google Translate.)

Also good to see Marina Kaye getting another hit on your chart! I almost didn't remember that song but listened to it again now and it's really good.

That cover to Lukas Graham's album looks more interesting than the one I'm seeing in Spotify... I checked out a few tracks but don't think I like them.

I'm a little curious why "Kommst Du mit ihr" is written like that with "Du" capitalized while "Wie schön du bist" is not, and not just on your chart but also if I check the titles in Spotify and for example on Amazon. Just listened to the song and I understand more than half of the lyrics but not this capitalization inconsistency. :(

Hey Tansike :D

So after seeing your advertisement to check out your new chart here i am! :P

4 (1) Ellie Goulding – Something In The Way You Move
Chart Run: *1*-4- / 2w

This is by far the best song Ellie has done this era and i still think if the record company push this as a single with plenty radio airplay it could still be a massive success. Got to #6 in my chart when it was an instant grat, a single release and official music video could well see this song return to my chart.

7 (3) Rachel Platten – Stand By You
Chart Run: 26-17-*1*-3-7- / 5w

Just as Rachel drops out of your top 5, she is looking set to climb into mine. :P Check out the acoustic performance i posted in my chart thread, i am sure you will enjoy it. :D

13 (39) Lukas Graham – 7 Years
Chart Run: 39-*13*- / 2w

Wow, amazing climb. :o :D I've loved 7 years since late 2015 and of course it was my final #1 of 2015 but looks like its success is going to continue for a good while yet for me.

23 (36) Matt Simons – Catch And Release
Chart Run: 36-*23*- / 2w

I love how this song has started to generate more interest on UK Mix. When i first entered this at #5 me and CZB were the only ones charting the song. Now i've seen this appear in a couple more charts which is great to see.

19 (5) Sia – Cheap Thrills
21 (14) Dua Lipa – Be The One
29 (24) Justin Bieber – Sorry
35 (22) Rachel Platten – Fight Song

These are all good/Great/Amazing (As Magnus would say)

YES for the Grimes success! The album is such a grower isn't it? Did you finally find the brilliance in Kill V. Maim? :D

That Dua Lipa song is great. I expected to be massive this year but it pretty much looks like its done :(. Hopefully the next song is a hit and then it's re-released later.

I hoped for more Sia songs though :-?

Personally i think "Fight Song" is one of the weaker songs on "Wildfire". If you like the current single "Stand By You", you probably like a few more tracks on the record as well.

Oh true... i even opened that one :) But you're right, i'm a little fan, thanks to "I See Fire"...

To be honest you already named all of my clear faves on "Art Angels" "Kill V. Maim" is my fave since 1st listen, followed by "Venus Fly". "Flesh Without Blood" comes third. After these three, i'd name "Easily" and "Life In The Vivid Dream" as the best tracks. But i think the album more works as a whole, and needs several spins. Ah and yes, "Kill V. Maim" is the next official single :)

Glad it is! It's easily my favorite track on the album <3
Good to hear you enjoy "Fine By Me" as well. I think his music is a bit underrated lately. I'm still not over the fact how unsuccessful "X" was, it still had so many good tracks that were ready to be released as singles like "Don't Be Gone Too Long" (ft. Ariana...) and "Autumn Leaves" :(

I was already interested to see your comment as i knew you're not a fan of Grimes at all...

Same over here, it's already really warm outside and feels like spring! But i still enjoy these tracks a lot :) Oh so you can't watch TV at all? Or is it still working? I think that would be a nightmare for me as i'm a little TV addict... No, from what i remember, "Vintersjäl" is the first #1 in swedish. There weren't many swedish songs on my charts overall... i can only think of "Under ytan" from a very few weeks ago and Malena Ernman's "Håll Mitt Hjärta" which peaked at #28. I don't understand the lyrics at all, but it was kinda obvious that 'Vinter' means 'winter'. I think she posted the lyrics on her facebook song, but only in swedish, so no idea what it's about, but it's still good! :)

Glad you like(d) "Freeze You Out". I think it's definitely a good choice for the next single, not sure if she ever gets a hit like "Homeless" though...
Which is the one on Spotify? I only know the one i posted... i think the album is solid, but that's it. Can't see this doing really well on my charts to be honest.

Interesting thoughts! I also wondered why the 'du' in "Kommst Du mit ihr" is capitalized, but somehow never really saw the 'du' in "Wie schön du bist" is not. But as you said, it's written like that everywhere, and i have no idea why. But then, i'm not really good when it comes to grammatics and stuff like this...

4 (1) Ellie Goulding – Something In The Way You Move
This is by far the best song Ellie has done this era and i still think if the record company push this as a single with plenty radio airplay it could still be a massive success. Got to #6 in my chart when it was an instant grat, a single release and official music video could well see this song return to my chart.
Hey and thanks for coming by! :)
I also think this could be a massive hit for her, and it's looking very promising so far as it's rising fast on iTunes and Spotify. Did you listen to the whole album? I think there are a very few better track on there ("Devotion", "Lost And Found" and "Holding On For Life"), but SITWYM is definitely a highlight!

JakeP wrote:7 (3) Rachel Platten – Stand By You
Just as Rachel drops out of your top 5, she is looking set to climb into mine. :P Check out the acoustic performance i posted in my chart thread, i am sure you will enjoy it. :D
The destiny of Dua Lipa and Charlie Puth :( And it's likely to see this falling even more from now on as i'm starting to get over it more and more...

JakeP wrote:13 (39) Lukas Graham – 7 Years
Wow, amazing climb. :o :D I've loved 7 years since late 2015 and of course it was my final #1 of 2015 but looks like its success is going to continue for a good while yet for me.
I knew you would love that climb! Not sure if it will be enough for a Top10 peak though, but it should show some stability from now on. A good discovery and a deserved hit - and it even looks like it will be a hit in the US! :o

JakeP wrote:23 (36) Matt Simons – Catch And Release
I love how this song has started to generate more interest on UK Mix. When i first entered this at #5 me and CZB were the only ones charting the song. Now i've seen this appear in a couple more charts which is great to see.
It's also starting to become a hit in several countries now, including over here in Switzerland. It's nothing new but it's well done and should rise even further in the upcoming week :)

Can't wait to see how Lukas Graham will do on your charts :)

Unfortunately i think i have to disappoint you about "Lazarus". By the looks of it it will probably leave the charts this week... and the album will also start to fall even more now...

Yes it really was! It's sooo good though! Actually "Kill V. Maim" was always my favorite track on the album, but it only got released now (= video release) that's why it only entered my charts now.

It's good, but it lacks something. It's not very good and doesn't have a repeat value for me. But she seems very interesting and i'm definitely following her now, can't wait for some more stuff from her :)

She may get one more entry next week, and the album will obviously make its entry too

thanks so much for all comments

week 05/2016 – 4 february 2016 Album battle: Charlie, Rihanna, Sia

    Singles Top40
For the first time of the year, the number one song from a week ago is strong enough to gather another week on top. The happy one is Anette Olzon, who only celebrated her very first top hit as a solo artist last week with „Vintersjäl“, and now she can call it a song with multiple weeks on top. This is a very good sign for her, as all songs that spent at least two weeks at number one during 2015 made the main countdown on the Year-End Charts. Grimes is the unlucky one again, as she misses to get her very first number one hit, but „Kill V. Maim“ is still increasing a little bit compared to its debut a week ago (3-2). Ellie Goulding closes the Top3, as „Something In The Way You Move“ is also up one position (4-3).

There aren’t that many new entries on the charts this week, and none of them made a very big impact actually. The highest debut belongs to Coldplay, who released the obvious single choice „Hymn For The Weekend“ as the next single of their latest (and also last, if the rumours are true) album „A Head Full Of Dreams“. The song enters the charts at #6, giving them their third Top10 arrival. Just missing the Top10 is someone who was featured on one of Coldplay’s Top10 hits... Rihanna! The singer used to get hit after hit, but she fails to make a big impact on my charts lately. While she still belongs to the most successful artists of all time on my charts, her newest single „Work“ only debuts at #13, being only her fifth song to miss a Top10 placement. The sad thing about these five songs is the fact, that all of them belong to the last six appearances (only „FourFiveSeconds“ reached the Top10 last year when it debuted and peaked at #8). It’s even her second lowest peaking single so far, together with „American Oxygen“, and above „Bitch Better Have My Money“ which got a shocking peak at #36 on my charts.

Charlie Puth’s new single „One Call Away“ debuts at #23 as his second appearance so far, following the Gold certified hit „Marvin Gaye“ from last year. A few spots below there’s Sia who re-enters the charts with „Alive“ at #28. Last but not least, Jess Glynne has the final new entry on the charts as her newest release „Ain’t Got Far To Go“ makes its entry. Unfortunately, it looks like the success of „Take Me Home“ (25-33) was just an exception, as the new single makes a very low start at #40.

Anette Olzon’s second entry „Cold Outside“ is already losing a few places as it’s down 2-4, followed by EFF’s „Stimme“ which becomes a Top5 hit this week (8-5). Ellie Goulding’s second entry „Army“ is down 5-7, leaving the Top5 after four non-consecutive weeks, and Marina Kaye is down 6-8 with „Freeze You Out“. Australian hit maker Sia just released her newest album „This Is Acting“, which pushes the current single „Cheap Thrills“ back into the Top10 (19-9). Justin Bieber closes the Top10 once again as „Love Yourself“ stays at #10.

X Ambassadors’ „Renegades“ keeps on rising, up 15-12 this week for another new peak. Matt Simons also reaches a new peak with his breakthrough hit „Catch And Release“, as the song climbs into the Top20 for the first time (23-18). Banks also reaches a new peak with her current single. The american singer recently released „Better“, and while the track has yet to enter the upper half of the charts, it’s up 32-25 this week, surpassing its debut position at #28 from three weeks ago. Birdy may have had the first top hit of the year, but „Keeping Your Head Up“ is dropping quite fast ever since, down 17-29 this week. She will release her third album next month, so maybe that one will push it again. An even bigger drop goes to Loreen, who tumbles 20-37 with „Under ytan“, which is likely to become her least successful single ever.

Sia’s „Cheap Thrills“ is the biggest climber, while Loreen’s „Under ytan“ is the biggest loser this week.

.
    Album Top20
Sia tops the charts with her seventh album „This Is Acting“, which becomes her second number one album after „We Are Born“ debuted and peaked on top as well back in 2010. Between these two albums, she released „1000 Forms Of Fear“, which became her worldwide breakthrough album, but only peaked at #5 on my album charts. Her closest rival was newcomer Charlie Puth, who debuts at #2 with his debut album „Nine Track Mind“. He already got a big hit last year with „Marvin Gaye“, featuring Meghan Trainor who debuted on the same position a year and two weeks ago. Grimes closes the Top3 with „Art Angels“, which is down 1-3 after one week on top.

Going by worldwide numbers and impact, the probably biggest new album out at the moment misses the Top3 as Rihanna debuts at #4 with her very long awaited new album „Anti“. The singer already released three tracks last year, which were supposed to be on the album as well but they aren’t now. It’s already her fifth arrival on my album charts since they started back in 2010, and all of them made the Top5 so far. Anette Olzon slips 4-5 with „Shine“ remaining pretty strong for such an old release, followed by Ellie Goulding who drops 2-6 with „Delirium“. Rachel Platten is starting to lose some steam as her album „Wildfire“ falls 3-7 this week now. Selena Gomez’ „Revival“ is down 6-8, Adele slips 8-9 with „25“ and Sarah Connor stays at #10 with „Muttersprache“.

Lukas Graham and Matt Simons both debuted in the Top10 only a week ago, but already have to leave that part of the charts, as „Lukas Graham (Blue Album)“ falls 5-11 and „Catch And Release“ is down 9-13. In between those album there’s the legend David Bowie, who also leaves the upper half of the charts with his latest release „Blackstar“ (7-12).

• Awesome to see Ellie doubling-up in your Top 10 - and she was even doubling-up in your Top 5 last week! I definitely enjoy both of those singles, but I prefer SITWYM, so I'm especially glad to see that was a No. 1 hit. Now if only it could do the same on the Hot 100!
• Lovin' the Top 20 debut for "Work" (work work work work)! It looks like Rihanna has a history of her debut being her peak position on your chart, but hopefully "Work" can buck that trend. **Fingers crossed**
• Speaking of debuts, it's great to see "One Call Away" enter! I've really enjoyed all of Charlie's singles as a lead artist, so I definitely plan to pick up Nine Track Mind at some point. You mentioned that "Marvin Gaye" is certified Gold, but where did it peak?

Excellent chart, Tansike! :D

Great to see "Hymn for the Weekend" debut high, but I don't know any songs in your Top 5. I'll have to check at least one of them out.

"Cheap Thrills" is such an earworm. "Work" sounds like a work in progress Rihanna never got around to finishing, but it's not terrible.

6 (NEW) Coldplay – Hymn For The Weekend
9 (19) Sia – Cheap Thrills
10 (10) Justin Bieber – Love Yourself
13 (NEW) Rihanna feat. Drake – Work
14 (7) Rachel Platten – Stand By You
19 (18) Selena Gomez – Same Old Love *P*
21 (14) Taylor Swift – Out Of The Woods *G*
24 (22) Adele – Hello *G*
26 (29) Justin Bieber – Sorry *G*
28 (RE) Sia – Alive
30 (24) The Weeknd – In The Night
34 (36) Nightwish – Élan *5xG*
39 (28) Lindsey Stirling – Hallelujah
Franklin’s music profoundly touched and changed the world, because over and over it offered that bridge to salvation, to freedom.

Yes Grimes, grow to #1 :D "Easily" is cute!

I'm checking your #1 out in a sec. ... It's nice! Oh, she was the Nightwish songstress :o ? I didn't know that. So she sang the amazing "Amaranth"? She changed, I didn't recognize her with the blonde hair. And obviously sorry for not checking out your text where you explained it earlier, I was just so freakin' bus in recent days  And OMG I'm currently listening to old The Rasmus songs because her profile on Spotify has a link to the band because of their collab

Great to see EFF in your Top 5!

Really good entry for "Hymn..."

Nice entry for "Work". At first I was like WTF , but it's actually pretty fun and catchy. I yet need to listen to the album.

You weren't "THAT" big of a fan of "Chandelier", were you? I really loved it back in 2014 :)

"Diamonds" is one of my fave songs ever recorded. But I also have a lot of personal memories with it, maybe that's why.
Looks like I found my way home
