Chris Tomlin, Burning Lights was at 371k at November 2014, Chris, what do you estimate it's total to be? I want to see whether it has sold enough to be certified Gold.

^??? I know that!

From the first post:

This is a list I started in October 2007 here at UKMix.

It's a list of obviously under-certified albums using SoundScan figures.

Examples:

Skrillex's "Scary Monsters" has SoundScanned over 500k, but it's uncertified. It should be certified Gold.

Train's Save Me San Francisco has SoundScanned 1,070,412 albums, but it's still Gold. It should be re-certified 1xp.

Michael Buble's Call Me Irresponsible has SoundScanned 2,336,819 units, but it's still 1xp. It should be re-certified 2xp.

This list is NOT for albums that many feel should be re-certified due to music club sales.

Example:

A 3xp album has SoundScanned 2.9 million. It has 600k in sales with BMG, so there should be 600k in sales with Columbia House. It should be re-certified 4xp.

I'm not going to go into all that. This list is large enough.

Numerous Motown albums have never been certified with the RIAA. Albums by Stevie Wonder, The Supremes and Diana Ross were not certified. I will not list these albums unless I have a confirmed SoundScan figure.

The original list had 112 albums. The 2nd list had 281 albums. The 3rd version has grown to 327 albums!

Remember, the RIAA is not responsible for certifying these albums. It is up to the record label to contact the RIAA and start the certification process.

Elvis Presley has sold enough units to qualify for GOLD Awards for the following two albums:

1. 'An Afternoon In The Garden' and

2. 'Christmas Duets'.

SONY have not yet requested certification.

Have the record labels got better and more interesting things to do than claim for more gold/platinum awards?
