Bruno had another secret performance/interview :o :o
Likely it's for Charlie Rose judging from the table.

So are we going to see this interview?
Seven number ones on Billboard Hot 100 and fourteen top ten hits since 2010/ Bruno Mars.

Very likely, only missing a date. Perhaps before the CBS special :)

It's going to be for PBS (Charlie Rose program).

Ed Sheeran did one in 2015: 30 min interview + performance of "Thinking Out Loud", both uploaded on Charlie's Youtube channel.

Will we have a performance as well? It's been a long time since an interview :)

P.S. I watched the Ed Sheeran interview and it was very interesting. He made questions to Sheeran that you don't usually listen on your average interview. Hopefully the same happens to Mars :)

Full interview below

Great interview btw some stuff we already knew, we had the background of the singles so far and some real introspective questions. He is still down to earth and know he can and will do better :)

So the way I'm thinking it would be great if he had 9 nominations (maximum), he won't get SOTY, not even in a million years. This seemed the best combo so far and close to what will happen, with two almost on lock wins. Thoughts? :) (The final dates of submissions is on October 16, some submissions might leak afterwards)

Record of the Year
"That's What I Like"

Album of the Year
"24K Magic"

Best Pop Solo Performance
"24K Magic"

Best R&B Performance
"That's What I Like" (win)

Best R&B Song
"Versace on The Floor"

Best Urban Contemporary Album (it can be pop instead of urban, he will have no shot at the pop category with his album)
"24K Magic" (win)

Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical
"24K Magic"
engineers: John Hanes, Serban Ghenea, Charles Moniz; mastering engineer: Tom Coyne

Best Music Video
"That's What I Like"
Jonhatan Lia & Bruno Mars, video directors; Jonathan Lia, Brian Welsh & Ryan Heiferman, video producers

Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical
"Versace on The Floor" remixer (Bruno Mars vS. David Guetta)

P.S. I know it's a bit far-fetched the Best Engineered Album (the award won't go to him), Best Music Video, and the remix (he has was nominated before but couldn't win because he was not the remixer (UF won, LOOH nominated), now it's Bruno Mars VS. David Guetta, still unlikely)

I just realized that the Urban Contemporary category is HELLA WEAK this year. He might actually win. The Weeknd is of course he's biggest competitor but his songs weren't that popular among R&B listeners this era so I guess Bruno has the advantage since "That's What I Like" was a huge R&B hit.

I'm still convinced they're submitting 24K album to POP. Both dw&h and UJ were nominated the former even won. Hell... Even Uptown Special was nominated mainly bc of UF success. He has big recognition in that field for years now. Sending the album anywhere else would be a huge risk not worth taking. Some music snobs could be iffy about him sending it to UC Best R&B Album is more likely but only if I squint.

Songs submition preditions

24k Magic Pop solo,
That's What I LIke: General Field, VOTY, Best R&B Song, Best R&B Performance,
Versace: Best Traditional R&B Performance

^That's my only doubt if they are submitting to R&B or Pop. I'm hoping RnB, his chances are bigger...and it was UJ which won, not Dw&H.

Can VOTF be for Best Traditional Performance? Does it feat that category?

He's submitting to Urban Contemporary, I know it because Bruno is dying to be also recognized as an R&B artist, and in the future, as a rock artist, and a reggae artist. He wants to be fit in every category and still win at it, that's the very essence, the very concept of who Bruno Mars is.

Tell me that he isn't fighting over sending his future rock songs to Rock radio. I'm sure he's doing that.

Look at Prince's Grammy history, there's not a genre he wasn't nominated in  MJ even won Rock solo for Beat It and R&B solo for Billie Jean.

The album is R&B, is definitely not pop. It should be submitted where it belongs.

Will he attend though?

He has a concert in Brazil the same night as the AMAs, 8 nominations is a LOT, he'll surely win some, I hope he postpones the date or does the show earlier.

I hope he doesn't, it's a stadium tour in South America his first, it's no joke. If I know AMA's it wouldn't be worth attending, the only shows he attends are either when he performs, despite this he always attends the Grammys whether he his nominated/performer or both :)

All the award shows so far have nominated his album in R&B categories so it would be wired to switch to Pop :-?. Hopefully, those future rock songs are closer than we think . So, just like Beyonce did last time with her album. I would like that very much :)
