I think manipulation is a trigger word, lol. I mean, Wayne is right, it is manipulation because she's not just releasing her album in a standard way to fend for itself. But the way I see it, in today's biz, you gotta do the most to make a big splash, and that's exactly what she's doing. It takes a lot of effort for a younger-skewing pop girl these days. And when you've already got a million in the bag on fanbase alone, why not pull out all the stops to get your album in as many hands/ears as possible? She's clearly put a lot of work into the album, and the planning and promotion. And I've gotta hand it to her, she's KILLING IT, once again.Debs_Wild wrote:How is she manipulating her first week sales?Wayne wrote:Nobody else has ever manipulated a first week like this either though.WolfSpear wrote:If she can top 1989's first week sales, it's safe enough to say that the album is successful. Nobody else has ever topped 1 million this many times, and to push the sales envelope every single time, it's just amazing.
Anyway, I wish I had went with 2m. Rats.
