17/12/1977 entry was different album, titled ... ALIVE. :D
Here's what the book says:
Titled 'Alive II' in the US. Live recordings from the LA forum between 25 & 27 Aug 77.
And in case you wonder... 1976 album features live recordings from their earlier tour (i.e. 1975 one).

Thanks for Donald Fagen runs! Please do THE COOL NOTES if time permits... Or simply do one check. They had 1 album, right? The books say it spent 2 weeks in the charts. Chartwatch '85 prints 1 week (1985-11-09, pos. 66). Could you verify this? Thanks!

One small discrepancy to verify here.
According to Han, the 28/06/1980 entry is at No. 64. I've got info it was No. 63 - double position with Pierre Belmonde THEMES FOR DREAMS.
Could anyone (Han?) check it out, please?

Another part to discuss. This time the good old 60s and 70s (plus some 80s). :)

Total # of weeks: 17-14c (Top 10: 2-1c, Top 20: 4 Top 40: 17 Top 75: 17) US:#62/17

The Complete Book Of the British Chart (2004 edition, later referred by me as CB04) prints 5 weeks more, i.e. giving total number of weeks as 22, not 17 as you have printed. I know it could be simply a matter of the source taken (Record Mirror, Record Retailer, etc.). CB04 takes Record Retailer as main source for the late 60s/early 70s. Your source is beeing Record Mirror. Hence the differences?
By the way. Do you have Record Retailer charts from 60s/70s by chance? It would be great to compare both.

CB04 prints peak position as 13, not 16 and gives the album total number of weeks as 8, not 6. Could you verify, or comment?

Total # of weeks: 19 ( Top 40: 5 Top 75: 15) US:#19/17

Title should read BROADSWORD AND THE BEAST (without "the" at the start).
Plus there is one discrepancy in the run above. One particular week of 1982-06-05: my source prints No. 55, not 56 as you have printed. That means two albums were beeing at the same position No. 55 (the second one beeing The Fixx album). Right, wrong?

As usual, I'd love to see some feedback. Oh, and thanks very much for keeping this thread alive! :)

1975 one).
You're correct, I will fix. Thanks!

Thanks!
Yes, the album "Have A Good Forever" did have 2 weeks on the charts. Its chart run is: 67-91.
Btw, are you still reconstructing album charts from Chartwatch yearbooks? As you know, Lonnie will post all of them on this forum.

The 5 weeks more by CB04 is incorrect. According to CB04 source the Guinness Chart Book, in this case the book "Hits of the 60's", which shows all separate chart runs, the album re-entered at 29-Nov-69 and stayed for another 5 weeks. Just check Lonnie's album chart thread and you'll see who's correct..

Regarding sources: I've stated that Record Mirror (until its demise) was primarily my source for the UK charts. However, in times when the Record Mirror charts differed from Record Retailer's, I always took the charts from the latter, as those charts have always been the official ones.

Yes, mostly. I am reconstructing 1985 one at the moment (as you know, it is the last one available; it means my db would be 1985-2006 complete). As basic source I've been using this thread (thank you). As far as earlier album charts are concerned, I've got 1980-84 charts from one kind soul. Usually I try to compare them to your data. Thanks for your answers.

My info is correct. Since the first comprehensive album book, Guinness (and derivates as CB) has given the wrong peak and weeks for this album.
The very first UK album book ("Rock File 2" by Charlie Gillett, 1973), which restricted its info to only top 20 hits, gave the correct peak: #13.

Oh, that's strange!
Here are the two charts concerned:

1985-11-09
66 NEW 1 Have A Good Forever The Cool Notes Abstract Dance
66 NEW 1 Eventide The Faith Brothers Siren

68 NEW 1 The Very Best Of Commodores - 16 Classic The Commodores Telstar

1985-11-16
91 66 2 Eventide The Faith Brothers Siren
92 76 21 All Through The Night Aled Jones with the BBC Welsh Symphony BBC
Orchestra and BBC Welsh Chorus (Chorus

As you see there are whole different albums at positions 91 and 92 on 1985-11-16. And on 1985-11-09 The Cool Notes are at No. 66 (tied position). Could you comment, please? Thanks!

One small discrepancy to verify here.
According to Han, the 28/06/1980 entry is at No. 64. I've got info it was No. 63 - double position with Pierre Belmonde THEMES FOR DREAMS.
Could anyone (Han?) check it out, please?
I have the Record Mirror for the next week 05/07/1980 and both albums have 63 as their last week position. Hopefully this helps. :D

Obviously a Chartwatch (your source I assume) error, caused by the tied #66 on the 1985-11-09 chart.
The run I gave should have been: 66-91.

OK I figured it out (confirm, please)! :D
On 1985-11-16 I've got HAVE A GOOD FOREVER by Faith Brothers at number 91 (second week in the charts, dropped from 66). The Complete book prints 1 week for this album (The Cool Notes got 2 weeks), so I assume David Longbottom (Chartwatch '85 compiler) made a mistake here. Am I right (i.e. Faith Brotheres spent only 1 week at No. 66 and dropped)?

Some differences (as far as chart positions are concerned) found in the following runs.

    1. KINGS OF THE WILD FRONTIER

02/01/1982: 79-46-53-60-75-76-89 (66/33-32c/12 wks) US:#44/35
One explanation. I have compared above runs with 1980-1984 album charts I've got. I am not quite sure what were they based on, but I find them (almost always) accurate. So I think it's worthwhile to check them out. Anyway...

Chart for the week ending 1981-09-19

My source: 30 (tied position with ANTHEM by Toyah, no number 31 at all)

Chart for the week ending 1981-12-05
Hanboo: 93
My source: 92 (tied position with SEE JUNGLE by Bow Wow Wow, no number 93 at all)

And finally, one solo album...
Chart runs for: ADAM ANT
(through February 07, 2004)
* UK ALBUMS *

2. STRIP
Date: 19/11/1983 - Run: *20*-32-48-60-58-72-72- (7 wsf)
07/01/1984: 88 (8 wks) US:#65/26

Chart for the week ending 1984-01-07
Hanboo: 88
My source: 89 (88 beeing REFLECTIONS by Various Artists)

Would you like to comment, please? :)

I have Record Mirror for 16 Nov 85, which shows the Faith Brothers album at #91 down from joint #66 the previous week, the other joint #66 by the Cool Notes
falling off the chart. This ties in with CW as their source was RM. The chart books (and Hanboo) show it was actually the Cool Notes album that survived for a second week on the chart at #91 on 16 Nov, with the
Faith Brothers falling off the chart, presumably using Music Week as the source. So either RM or MW got it wrong - which, I guess we'll never know.
