Watch the official trailer for The Handmaid’s Tale, coming only to
Hulu April 26, 2017.

Adapted from the classic novel by Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale is the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly the United States. Facing environmental disasters and a plunging birthrate, Gilead is ruled by a twisted fundamentalism in its militarized ‘return to traditional values'. As one of the few remaining fertile women, Offred (Elisabeth Moss) is a Handmaid in the Commander’s household, one of the caste of women forced into sexual servitude as a last desperate attempt to repopulate the world. In this terrifying society, Offred must navigate between Commanders, their cruel Wives, domestic Marthas, and her fellow Handmaids – where anyone could be a spy for Gilead – all with one goal: to survive and find the daughter that was taken from her.

Watched the first episode on Channel 4, absolutely brilliant! What a grim yet clever premise. Although with current birth rates I don't see it being a problem anytime soon.

I've just finished watching this show and I'm really impressed how they blended a book and modern-social political climate. The cast is brilliant and the atmosphere they managed to crate - just speechless. Looking forward to the second season. I'm glad that Margaret Atwood will take part in writing new episodes, since the season 1 ends where books ends as well.

Loved this, some episodes dragged a little but on the whole it was brilliant. The final episodes were so tense, I'm glad her friend escaped to Canada and reunited with her husband! Can't wait to see what happens next and where June ends up. I really thought Nick was the one who was being brought to be stoned because he'd (presumably) got her pregnant.

i am shivering. I've just ended season 1. OMFG... every single actor on this show deserves every single award. Every single writer deserves every single award. It's unbelievable how good this series is. I have no words.

Maybe they should give the award to Margaret Atwood instead, don't you think?

In book departmant - yes! But you can rarely see a book adaptation made this good and everyone who participated in bringing this masterpiece to video format should be proud of themselves. They really deserve every single award, Atwood included, since she'll co-write episodes for the second season.

Brilliant series. I would've loved some nude Joseph Fiennes scenes but it was great nonetheless.

The Golden Globe awards for the show were so well deserved! It was outstanding, especially Elisabeth Moss' performance.

The 2 new episodes are amazing!! I literally only watched the first series for the first time over the past couple of weeks so it was fab going straight into the new series.

Looks like it’s gonna be another excellent season.

Also, Nick is such a ride!

Ok, I'm slayed. I was worried about stepping out beyond the book territory, but they've done amazing job so far. And those graphic scenes... I can't... best show ever :(
