Hi guys,

I love music and I like several musical genres like pop (Madonna, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, P!nk), rock ( U2, Coldplay, Nirvana, Guns n roses), R&B ( Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Aretha Franklin, Steve Wonder), jazz (Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Ray Charles), Blues (Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, B. B. King), MPB - Brazilian Popular Music (Caetano Veloso, Chico Buarque, Elis Regina, Maria Bethânia), but I hate some genres like gospel, rap and heavy metal...and you? :)

I'm not a big fan of screamo or country. Country is boring and screamo just hurts my ears

Metal, Screamo, Jazz is boring to me honestly, I don't hate it I just wouldn't listen to it more than once. I detest Regional Mexican Music. Those are the ones I think of easily. Country music is most of the times boring to me.

I don't like country music too. Here, in Brazil, this music style has been a phenomenon among young people.

It's hard since most genres are very broad
Metal actually is a very broad genre, I don't like the metal they grunge in, but there is plenty of symphonic metal that is awesome.
I don't like country that much, but there are songs classified as country that I like

Most of the time it is more about the voice than the genre for me, whether I like music or not

I will listen to any genre as long as the lyrical content is good.

Sadly Hip-Hop and Hard Rock/Heavy Metal seem to fall short in that department so I avoid them now. I don't listen to much Classical or Jazz either, not became I dislike those genres but because they do not contain many vocals!

This.

There are genres I'm not very keen, specially house and jazz though there is some beautiful jazz I can stand a whole night or some good dance tunes I can manage to hear and enjoy.

Lyrical content? There's A LOT of fantastic music with no lyrics at all.

Just one example of a brilliant, emotive album with no vocals and, of course, no lyrics.

How can you not be a fan of this? It's exhilarating.

I should rephrase slightly, lyrical content on songs with vocal parts.

That piece you posted was nice and I also listen to scores from movies and TV shows from time to time. In my teenage years I didn't pay attention to lyrics at all, it was all about the music/production but now the lyrics are all I listen to. Maybe that explains why the streaming charts are such a mess with teenagers still in the phase that I was in of not really listening to music properly.
