Tuesday 2 January 2018

Midweeks information is a bit thin on the ground at the moment but we should have an update either later today or tomorrow afternoon.

In the meantime we have a sort of midweeks. The OCC have published the new top 20 of the Trending Chart which is, I believe, the first 20 tracks on the OCC chart not to have gone top 10 on the weekly top 100.

The Trending Chart features chart positions from the current midweeks Top 100 which makes me wonder if we will get a midweeks update today

http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-new ... rt__21352/

As you can see, there is a lot of volatility on the chart with Ramz jumping back up the chart, up to number 10, James Arthur reversing a drop to climb to number 15, Craig David ft Bastille back up the chart and now at 17 and Dave Ft Mostack back into the top 20 at number 19.

Also could a mod / admin pin this topic to make it a sticky while unpinning the 2017 equivalent? Thanks!

The top 100 updates on the OCC website are the ones they should have put online yesterday but somehow forgot to upload properly! There are some differences to the midweeks from today but those differences are just a handful of places at the most.

Just realized that I forgot to grab last week's Top 100 Updates for Singles and Albums from the OCC site and they seem to have disappeared from the official site now.

Did anyone catch those Top 100's and are you willing to share them with me? PM is also fine, since those Top 100's probably can't be published in full here.

Thanks,

Ed Sheeran Closes In on Another U.K. Chart Double
https://www.billboard.com/articles/colu ... art-double
1/9/2018 by Lars Brandle

Ed Sheeran is on track for the U.K. chart double once more as Divide (Asylum) and “Perfect” rule the respective albums and singles surveys at the midweek stage.

Since Divide dropped in March 2016, the British artist has managed the double on nine occasions, more weeks than any other artist this decade, according to the Official Charts Company. He could extend that feat to double figures when the charts are published this Friday, and there’s a good chance he’ll set another record.

In second place on the Official Chart Update is “River” (Interscope), Sheeran’s collaboration with Eminem which sets up the Brit for another milestone. Currently, Sheeran is tied with Justin Bieber as the artist with the most weeks concurrently spent at Nos 1 and 2, at 13 non-consecutive cycles, the OCC notes.

Elsewhere, Rita Ora’s “Anywhere” (Atlantic) climbs 4-3, while “For You,” her collab with Liam Payne from the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack, is on target for the highest new entry at No. 4 while Clean Bandit and Julia Michaels’ “I Miss You” improves 7-5.

Also on the midweek chart, Bruno Mars’ latest single “Finesse” (Atlantic) makes a strong start at No. 9 thanks to the release of a new remix featuring Cardi B; homegrown R&B star Craig David’s “I Know You” (Speakerbox) recording with Bastille lifts 17-11; and Justin Timberlake’s comeback track “Filthy” (RCA) opens at No. 13, just one place above Jax Jones’ “Breath” (Polydor) featuring Ina Wroldsen.

The biggest threat to Sheeran’s albums chart crown comes from The Greatest Showman (Atlantic) soundtrack, which rises 4-2 on the Official Chart Update and is just 800 combined sales behind Divide, according to the OCC.

'Perfect' will almost certainly record a sales decrease over the week when the new charts are published tomorrow. This will mean that as from the sales week starting tomorrow the track will move to ACR. Without a doubt there will be a new number 1 a week on Friday but will Ed be replaced by Eminem... featuring Ed?
