"Land Of Plenty" was the 3rd and final single released from OMC's debut album 'How Bizzare' in 1996. The song was written about Aoteroa and was a ballad where Paul Fuemana basically talked the verses... anyway the chorus went like:

We came to this land of plenty
And we came to this land of hope
And we came to this land of good times
Yeah and we came to this land of love

The second single, in case U were wonderin was 'On The Run' which I also like.

Yeah, As Good as it Gets,Communicate and Astronaut are favourites of mine.
But like I said, probably my favourite is 'Space Cadet' off Supersystem.
I like the instrmental unnatural sounding change from the first chorus into the second verse.
And off their latest album, I'm also really liking 'Sex Show' and one of my favourites- 'Just Like You'.
I really like the way it has the harder elements to it, and then goes into the anthemy sounding part 'so read......'

Actually one point that I'm getting majorly peaved off at, is the marginalisation of heaps of New Zealand music.
It's like people in the industry have such a huge chip on their shoulder.
All of a suddent groups like Zed,the Feelers,Tadpole and Stellar* are being looked on as being too commercialised. It's gotta stop with all of this bagging of successful music.
It will happen to Goodshirt too after they've had abit more success.
Just the good old Kiwi knocking machine

Actually one song that should have been in my list is one of my favourites at the moment.
'Life is so Sweet' by Garageland. Otherwise known as the theme song to the NZ tv show 'the strip'.

I love that song. Right from the first line to the catchy sha la la la's in the chorus.
And the instrumental piece right at the end.

I Got You by Split Enz.

In fact 90 per cent of all records from NZ are by people called Finn.

(not really...)

OMC's "How Bizarre" reached the #1 spot on a U.S. chart and peaked at #6 in the U.K.

#1 in the US of A?
thats pretty good. Are they still making music, because its not often a New Zealand artists makes no.1 in America or top 10 in the UK.

I think that the next big thing will be anika moa.

I think many of New Zealand's top acts would make the top 20 in the Uk at least, if they were from the UK.
Not that they have anything against New Zealand.
It's just that they don't get promoted over there too much.

I think Che Fu,K'Lee,Anika Moa,Zed,Stellar* and possibly the Feelers could all make it up into the UK top 20 if they were in the UK and were promoted well enough.
They all have great marketable music.

I agree. She's a lucky New Zealand artist though, cos she's got Sony taking her over to New York to do her music, so she has a better chance at cracking the U.S. market than any other Kiwi artist. Plus "Falling In Love Again" was on the America's Sweethearts soundtrack.

yeah i was told that falling in love again was in home and away. I think that its Anika Moas best single to date. She's also got a new record label in America which is universal or something like that. Her song is the no.1 single based on airplay in NZ this week which is really good.

Also I think that nesian mistick should release 'Its on' in another country because that is such a huge song. Its a big seller in NZ and if it had a lot of airplay it would've been no.1

Bic Runga is pretty good too. I like her new song 'get some sleep'. I think that she should concentrate on breaking uk next.

Yeah, I personally like Falling in Love Again more than Youthfull. It's got a better music vid too imo.
Both songs are great tho.

Love Get some Sleep too from Bic Runga. She should really try breaking into other markets like the UK as u mentioned. I have no idea how she does internationally.
I know she's done a little bit in the USA, but I think the reception may be abit better if she tried to get into the UK markets.
She's also got a good duet single behind her that was reasonably big in the States.
Aswell as Sway being featured in American Pie.
People just need to put a face to the name and keep on buying her material.

I personally don't really like Nesian Mystik. But they are successfull, good on them. And they obviously have a big market.
Maybe they should try Australia.

where do u think that K'Lee should go? First off to Australia in my opinion, and then she what happens from there. She's got a good attitude and image and her songs sound more American. I think theres a good chance that '1+1+1(It Ain't Two)' would be able to crack America or UK more than any of her other songs.
